The accident occurred on State highway 30, seven miles north of Reydon. The child waas riding in the car which his mother was driving. The mother reached over to lock the car door when she lost control of the car and struck a bridge. The child was thrown against the winshield, killing it almost instantly. The mother ran to a nearby farmhouse for help and the child was dead at the time it arrived at the doctor's office. Curtis Dale Rice was born September 26, 1953, in Cheyenne. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rice of Reydon, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Rice of Cheyenne and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lucas of Durham. Funeral services were held for the boy Sunday afternoon in the Methodist church in Cheyenne. Burial was in the Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
