He was a veteran of World War I, and a long time member of the Methodist Church. He came to western Oklahoma with his parents when he was nine years old, homesteaded near Reydon in 1903 and has lived at the same place since that time. He was married to Myrtle Sanford at Roll, Oklahoma on November 29, 1919. He is survived by Mrs. Myrtle Miller, and six daughters, Mrs. Helen Parks of Odessa, Texas; Mrs. Erma Raney of Hereford, Texas; Mrs. Margie Hardin, Odessa; Mrs. Mary Dawson, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Mrs. Hazel Jackson of Clark Field, Phillippine Islands; and Joan Miller of the home address; also two sons, Murrell of Hawthorne, California and Glenn of the home address. Other survivors are one sister, Mrs. Margaret Clay of Reydon; one brother, Vernal, Reydon, and 17 grandchildren. His father, mother, one daughter and one son preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at Reydon on June 8, 1955 Rev. Horace Woodard and John Spurlin officiated. Interment was at the White Rose cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with military services at the graveside. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
