Born December 27, 1881 at Barber county, Kansas, he came to Western Oklahoma with his parents in 1891 where the family homesteaded in the Dempsey community. He was married at Dempsey to Laura Dare. He moved to Reydon in 1953 where he had continued to make his home. He was a member of the Reydon Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife, of the home address, seven daughters, Mrs. Annabell Marshall of Reydon, Mrs. Laura Capehart of Fair Oaks, Calif., Mrs. Frances Harris, Reydon, Mrs. Helen Jewell of Hawaii, Mrs. Bessie Honeycutt and Mrs. Bertha Honeycutt, both of Lawndale, California, Mrs. Navada Miller of Hawthorne, Calif., 16 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Other survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Addie Abbott and Mrs. Emma Rowen, both of Reydon, three brothers, William King of Elk City, George King and Joe King of Oklahoma City. His parents, one sister and two brothers preceded him in death. Interment was in the White Rose cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with the Moore Funeral home in charge.
