Hapgood was born in Kansas February 5, 1885. He passed away in the Cheyenne hospital August 25, 1957. On November 30, 1931 he was united in marriage to Mabel W. Cooper in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. Immediate survivors include his wife of the home address, two daughters, Mavis Horton of Bakersfield, California and Eunice Archer, Fresno, California; 3 sons, Homer R. Cooper, Lester Cooper and Merlin Cooper, of Lubbock, Texas; 9 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Rev. James Wilkerson had charge of the funeral services held in the Baptist church, Cheyenne. Committal was in Strong City cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Scroggins Funeral Home. Casket bearers were Dale Wesner, Dow Putman, C.F.
