He departed this life April 6, 1956, at the age of 77 years, 7 months and 22 days. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, one sister, two brothers, and an infant son. In 1907 he came to Goree, Knox County, Texas. In 1909 he came to Vernon, Texas where he met and married Pearlie Lee Crabtree. To this union eleven children were born, the sixth child dying at birth. On January 12, 1929, they moved with eight children to thei present home near Ryedon. Here two children were born. He was saved and baptised in to the Baptist church in 1920. He was a wonderful husband and father, always teaching his children to be honest and truthful. His life was cenetered aroung his family and he had high ideals for his children. He is survived by his wife, Pearlie, of the home address; 3 daughters, Velva Postewait, of Trona, California; Johnnie Bell Carpenter, Hammon; Nadia Martin, Broger, Texas; 7 sons, Dillion L., Reydon; Elzy G., Guthrie; William T., Odessa, Texas; H. Lee and James A., Pampa, Texas; Byron, McClave, Colorado; and Dick, Clinton; and twenty-five grandchildren. One grandchild, Leon has made his home with his grandparents since infancy. He also leaves one niec e, Maggie Patman, Seagoville, Texas, cousins and a host of friends. Funeral services were held in Reydon community building April 8, 1958. Casket bearers were six of his seven sons. Officiating ministers were Rev. Walter Jordon of Eldorado, Rev. Lynn Heard and John Spurlin. Interment was in Union Chapel cemetery west of old Midway, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, by the side of his mother, with Moore Funeral Home in charge. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
