Born December 25, 1892 in Waneta, Kansas, he was a World War I veteran and formerly served as post commander of the Campbell-Cross post of the American Legion in Cheyenne. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Daisy Welty, and two brothers, Wayne and Aaron, all of Strong City.
