She passed away April 8, 2002 in her home at the age of 66 years, 3 months and 17 days. Mickie graduated from Cheyenne High School before attending the University of Oklahoma and Panhandle A&M. She was married to Don Shelton at Cheyenne, Oklahoma on February 23, 1957. They moved to Amarillo, Texas and later to Albuquerque, New Mexico before moving to Guymon, Oklahoma in 1960 where Mickie worked at Nash Brothers Motor Company and Southwestern Public Service Company. They moved to Cheyenne in 1984 to make their home. Mickie was a member of the Cheyenne First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Don, of the home; 2 sons, Doug Shelton of Boise City, OK and Greg Shelton of Cheyenne, OK; 1 brother and sister-in-law, Billy Doug and Phyllis Kendall of Denver, CO; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Willa Jean Shelton of Reydon, Oklahoma and a host of relatives and friends.
