He was born July 31, 1877 in Collins County, Texas. He was married on March 22, 1906, to Ruth Allen of Granite, Oklahoma. He was a long time member of the Baptist church. He moved to Roger Mills County in 1926 from Dallas, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruth Evans of Cheyenne; four daughters, Mrs. Dora Mayfield and Mrs. Ina Woods, Cheyenne, Mrs. Pauline Webb, Los Angeles, California, and Mrs. Cora Morton, Benecia, California; one son, Charles Evans, Tucumcari, New Mexico; two sisters, Mrs. W.A. Lake and Mrs. Cora Castell, both of Dallas, Texas; and one half-brother, Joe Evans of Hereford, Texas. Also 22 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Services were held at the Baptist church Friday with Rev. J.F. Wilkerson officiating. Burial was in the Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Scroggins Funeral Home of Cheyenne in charge. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
