Andris will be conducted Tuesday, May 21, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. from the Martin Funeral Home Chapel of Elk City with Rev. Daniel Pulver officiating. Interment will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Elk City. Joseph Arthur Andris Jr. was born November 24, 1917 at the Sandstone Creek community, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma to Joseph Arthur and Irene Smith Andris and passed away Saturday May 18, 2002 at the age of 84. He attended Sandstone, Herring and Cheyenne Schools and served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1942 until his discharge in 1945 during WW II. Mr. Andris was married to Arnetta June Thomas on February 26, 1944 at the Sayre Methodist Church parsonage. They farmed near the Sandstone Community until moving to Elk City in 1993. Mr. Andris was a member of the United Methodist Church of Elk City and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother. Survivors include his wife, June Andris of the Elk City home; a daughter, Sallie Deges and her husband Elmer of Sayre and a son, Tom Andris and his wife Shirley of Bluejacket, Oklaoma; four grandchildren, Christopher James Degesd of Wichita Falls, Texas, Anita Kay Horton of Elk City, Timothy Joseph Andris of Wyandotte, Oklahoma and Andrew Phillip Andris of Bluejacket, Oklahoma, three great grandchildren, Jacob Joseph Deges and Benjamin Thomas Deges of Wichita Falls, Texas and Morgan Kay Horton of Elk City; two sisters, Faye Reger of Tulsa and Kay Wormington of Marble Hill, Missouri and one brother, Jack Andris of Neosho, Missouri.\ Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
