Ivy was born in Jackson county, Alabama on February 21, 1868 and passed away in San Diego, California, June 17, 1965 at the age of 97 years, 3 months and 27 days. He was married to Mattie Sue Sims August 14, 1892. To this union waas born 11 children. His wife and two children have preceded him in death. Mr. and Mrs. Ivy were married 65 years prior to her death. They came to Oklahoma in 1901 and homesteaded at Roll, Oklahoma where they lived and farmed for many years. Later Mr. Ivy was Rgistrar of Deeds of Roger mills County, Assessor of day County and County Treasurer for several years for Roger Mills County. He has been a member of the Baptist Church in Chedyenne for over 50 years and a Christian for over 70 yearsx. Memorial services were held in California last Saturdcxay for Mr. Ivy for his many friends and family who live there. He leaves to mourn , his 9 children: Mrs. Jelia Gillette, and H.N. (Dick) Ivy of Cheyenne, Nonnie Mouser of Madison, Indiana, P.H. Ivy of Granite, Oklahoma, Pearl Stencel, Ruby Oliver, Jake Ivy Jr. and Helen Parson all of San Deigo, California, and Hazel O. Scott of Oklahoma City. He leaves two brothers and one sister, Hollis Ivy of Waco, Texas, Robert Ivy of Imperial, California, and Mrs. Anna Baldwin of Seagoville, Texas. He leaves also 27 grandchildren 51 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and a host of friends. Committal Silet Home cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
