Beavin died Thursday, September 14, 1967, in the Veterans Hospital, in Sulphur, Oklahoma. Requiem Mass was said in the St. Joseph Catholic church, with Rev. Cletus Bash officiatin. Lewis, the wson of F.A. and Margaret Beain, was born July 11, 1901 in the Redmon Community. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Gene Hefner, one son, Don H. of Lawton; two brothers, Paul, Cheyenne; and Roy, Oklahoma City; four sisters, Virginia murphy, Cheyenne; Agnes Bumpus, Springer; Mabel Eckroot, of Oklahoma City; Esther Kelly, Irving, Texas; four grandchildren, and a host of niecies and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Russell, his father and mother, one sister and four brothers. The pall bearers were nephews, Russell Murphy, Howard Beavin, Jerry Beavin, Leon Keahey, Hanry Baker, and Aaron Cantrell. Committal was in the Silent Home cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Scroggins Funeral Home in charge. The Cheyenne Campbell-Cross Post provided the color guard and presented the American flag under which Lewis Beavin served his countrfy during World War II and the Korean War.
