Ballard died May 8, 1988 in Altus. Services were May 9, 1988 at the Tims Chapel of Memories in Altus, with the Rev. Keith Wiginton officiating. Interment was in Altus Cemetery. Ballard was born September 28, 1905 in Reydon. He owned and operated the Dairy Mart in Frederick for a number of years. He was a member of the Altus First Baptist Church and was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner. He married Dola Ferris Ballard Jun 30, 1929, in Elk City. Survivors include two daughters, Joetta Moreland of Lubbock, Texas and Kay Felker of Altus; a nephew, Wilbert Tidwell of Yukon; four gandchildren; two great grandchildren and a brother.
