The family moved to Hammon in 1910. She attended the public schools of Hammon graduating from the high school. After earing her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma, she did graduate work at Oklahoma A&M. She taught school for a total of 18 years, and worked for the State Departemtn of Public Welfare for 16 years. On November 1, 1930 she was married to E.P. Salter in Cordell, Oklahoma. No children were born to this union. On April 7, 1955, she died in Oklahoma City, of a heart attack. She is survived by her husband, E.P. Salter, her sister, Elsie Shults, a number of nieces and nephews, two great nieces, two great nephews, and a host of friends.
