She was born January 9, 1906 in Elk City and married Royal Ballard on June 30, 1929 in Elk City. The couple owned and operated the Dairy Mart in Frederick and she was an LPN at a local nursing home. She was a member of the Altust First Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Joetta Morehead of Lubbock, Texas and Kay Felker of Altus; a nephew, Wilbert Tidwell of Yukon; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters.
