He passed from this life on Monday evening November 10, 1997 at the Leedey Nursing Center. Mr. Adams had reached the age of 90 years and 24 days at the time of his death. Clarence grew into his manhood in the Eureka community. He began his school work in the Eureka School in 1914 attending those until 1922 at which time he completed one year at Leedey High School. Following his school work he continued working in his life chosen field of a "Hard Working Farmer" Clarence dearly enjoyed watching his farm produce from his many long hours of work. On November 26, 1932 Clarence was united in marriage to Leona Addington at Arapaho, Oklahoma they moved to a farm in the Eureka community livning there until 1975 when they built a new home and moved to Leedey. To this most happy union three children were born: Bernon Lee, Quanah Corene and Larry Marvin. Clarence enjoyed raising a garden and after moving into town still continued to raise a large garden. He enjoyed sharing the produce of the garden with his family and numerous friends. He also enjoyed spending time visiting with his many friends and held dear the times his family was all home to visit. Upon the death of his beloved wife Leona in 1989, Clarence continued to live in their home until 1994 when special nursing care was needed and he entered the Leedey Nursing Center to spend his final days. Mr. Adams was a member of the Leedey United Methodist Church where he was baptized on November 19, 1961. He was a very faithful and supportive member of his church. Always striving to live his Christian beliefs. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Ethel Martin and beloved wife, Leona, one daughter-in-law, Geraldine Adams and also an infant grandson. Those surviving to honor his memory include his daughter, Quanah Cummins of Lindsay, Oklahoma; two sons, Vernon Adams of Moore, Oklahoma and Larry Adams of Edmond, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law and many friends. Services were held at the Leedey First United Methodist church, Friday, November 14, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. Officiating was Kim Domnick, Pastor of the Leedey First United Methodist Church and Don Ross, Pastor of the Leedey First Baptist Church.
