Charles Murphy and Don Scales. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home. Kelsa Dean Adams was born August 28, 1934 to Ellie E. and Bertha M. Scott Adams in Strong City and died Monday January 27, 1997 in his home following a battle with cancer. Dean started school in Strong City and Roll and moved to Clinton as a young boy. He worked for a number of years for the Clinton Daily News. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1954 and enlisted in the U.S. Army November 19, 1954. Following his honorable discharge in 1956, he married the former Miss Lois Maxine Shepherd on December 30, 1956. He had been employed by S.W. Bell, Lin Manfacturing Company and John Deere Tractor. He volunteered with Clinton Fire Department, became Captain and was promoted to Clinton Fire Chief. Dean retired in 1986 and moved to California for a short time. He returned to Clinton and was employed with Clinton Public Schools until the time of his death. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church, a loifetime member and past Commander of the Hobbs-Ogle Power American Legion Post, member of the Fire Association, Noon Lions and a past member of the Jaycees. Survivors include his wife, Maxine of the home; three daughters, Cindy Lundy and special friend, Leroy Lehr of Clinton, Kelly Salter and husband John of Lewisville, Texas, and Traci Holcomb and husband Richard of Clinton; his mother, Bertha porter of Elk City; two sisters, Marie Wilson and Roberta Hardin both of Elk City; three brothers, George Adams of Austin, Texas, Nolan Adams of Okemah and Edward J. Adams of Freemont, California; four grandchildren, Jason Lundy, Tamara Lundy, Kelsa Derek Adams and Stuart Holcomb. He was preceded in death by his father. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, Ok
