He was united in marriage to Mary Luella Davidson Novemer 19, 1893. They moved to Roger Mills County in 1899. To this union were born five children, one daughter and four sons. One son Joseph Wesley and his wife preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing one daughter, Mrs. Ollie May Woods, three sons, James Ira and Jessie T. of Reydon and Robert Lee of ( line can't read) Jack and Mary June Cole, Willie, Buster, Marie, Lorene, Maxine, Perline, Joseph, J.A. and Barbara Woods, besides many friendsa and relatives. He joined the Freewill Baptist church when young, kep his faith until his passing. He was a faithful father and grandfather. Services were conducted in the school auditorium of Durham, Rev. R.K. Whitaker, officiating and he was laid to rest by the side of his wife in the Fairview cemetery, Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under he direction of he Tunnard's Funeral Home.
