She passed away March 14, 2006 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years, 11 months and 8 days. Frances attended the Buck Creek 3 room country school. She later rode the bus and attended school at Wellington, Texas. She was married to Melvin Landon Sasser at Wellington, Texas on February 26, 1943. Frances and Melvin lived several years in the Wellington area before moving to Cheyenne, Oklahoma; where they farmed while owning and operating one of the largest dairy herds in the state of Oklahoma. She was a member of the Sayre Jehovah Witness Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, Bonnie Joycee Souder, 1 brother, James Lucian Souder, Jr. and 1 great granddaughter. Survivors include her husband of 62 years Melvin of the home, 1 daughter, Sandra and Ronnie Driver, Elk City, OK; 2 sons, Don Sasser, Cheyenne, OK and Lindy and Connie Sasser, Reydon, OK; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; her siblings, Mary Ellen Mitchell, Grand Prairie, TX, Margaret Etta Reeves, San Manuel, AZ, Ruby Dell Pitts, Amarillo, TX, Betty Jeazn Lancaster, Norwood, MO, Annie Mae Spear, Amarillo, TX, Perry Lynn Souder, Altus, OK, Tommie Nell Neeley, Amarillo, TX and Connie Kay James, Roswell, NM; and a host of family and friends. Casket bearers Dwayne Roark, Jim Maddux, Jim Orgain, Russell Calvert, Tom Maddux, Troy Miller. Honorary Casket bearers Buster Miller, Dale Tracy, Leon Malson, Randall Calvert, Steve Seay, D.L. Calvert, Wayne Parkhurst, James Maddux, Tony Tracy. Services were held Friday March 17, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cheyenne School Auditorium.
