He passed away Feburary 16, 2006 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 15 days. Calvin's parents and grandparents were pioneer familiees in the area around New Liberty and Victory. Calvin attended Victory School before moving into Sayre with his parents where he attended Sayre Schoolsw. He was married to Mamie Shipman in 19411. Calvin farmed in the New Liberty community before becoming a truck driver and worked with highway construction. He later began working for Perfect Fuel for the next 35 years in Sayre and Cheyenne until his retirement in 1986. Calvin moved to Elk City in 1985 to make his home. He was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church and the Odd Fellow Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 son, Bobby Shelton. He is survived by his 1 son and daughter-in-law, Lonnie and Beth Shelton, Wheeler, Texas; 1 Sister, Addie Archer and husband E.L., Sayre, Oklahoma; 1 brother, Carrol Shelton and wife, Ann, Denton, Texas; 2 gandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be held February 20, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Whinery Savage Chapel officiated by Kris Ramber.
