She passed away at the Leedey Nursing Center on Feeburary 10, 2006. Edna was raised southwest of Leedey on her family's farm. During this time she attended school at Texmo and East Quartermaster before graduating from Leedey Public School. On July 2, 1932 she married Troyt L. Banks at Elk City, Oklahoma. Three children were born to this union: Leah, Troyt Jr. and Lynn. They resided southwest of Leeddey until 1948 when they moved east of Leedey. In 1985 after losing their home to a fire the couple moved to town. Edna spednt her life as a housewife, caring for her husband and children. No oned was a stramger to Edna. She loved to have company and always had an extra chair at the dinner table. Her family and grandchildren were her life. She is preceded in death by her husband, Troyt, her son Lynn B. Banks, her parents and sisters, Louisa Jones, Lorene Albright and Orpha Carlton. She is survived by her children, Leah Smith and husband Joe of Leedey and Shot Banks and wife Betty of Leedey; by her brotheer, Ashley Barnard and wife Ruth of Leedey; by eight grandchildren; fifteen grand-children and three great-great grandchildren; by nieces and nephews, other family and a host of friends.
