Miller, 80, Hinton Junction, died in Western Oklahoma State hospital Wednesday after and operation there several days ago. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday at Clinton. Miller lived with his son, Belva at Hinton Junction. He came to western Oklahoma in 1892 and lived in Cheyenne prior to moving to Clinton in 1917. He engaged in the real estate business and served as a deputy sheriff and jailer for eight years and as a policeman for three years. Miller was a member ofd the Christian church in Clinton. He is survived by his wife; one son, Belva; three sisters, Mrs. L.R. Douglas and Jim Hopkins, both of Abilene, Texas and Mrs. Minnie Tolleson, Washington, D.C. Also surviving are two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Charley Miller was a substantial early-day resident of Cheyenne. Hed served the city as post master and was active in the civic affairs of the town: He was a charter member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Cheyenne and continued his membership until the end of his life. Old friends of Cheyenne enjoyed stopping at the Hinton Junction to visit with Charley Miller who was hale and hearty until his last illness, and who enjoyed keeping in touch with his friends. Among those attending the funeral services in Clinton Friday were County Clerk and Mrs. Fred Brann and Miss Minnie Slief of Cheyenne. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK 29-Jun-1950
