Don was born in Crawford, Oklahoma to his parents Ralph and Lettie (Tiny) Ridgway on December 23, 1931. Don had 7 brothers and 1 sister. He moved to California in the early years where he was a surveyor, soil compaction tester and played country music for state senators, operating engineers, rodeos, chili cook-offs and various functions. He movedd back to Durham, Oklahoma in 1978 where he was Roger Mills County Commissioner. His music ledgacy has left a song and a smile that will never be forgotten. He loved playing for the Old Settler's Reunion every 5 years. His band, Don Ridgway and the Country Aires played for the last time at the Cheyenne High School and Crawford School in 2002. Oklahoma held a special placed in hise heart, he thought it was God's Country. Don was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Lettie Ridgway, 2 brothers, Richard (Dick) and Ralph Ridgway, 2 nephews, Denny and Steve Ridgway, and 1 niece, Shirley Ridgway Rinella. He is survived by his wife, Billie Ridgway of Pinon Hills, California, 1 son, Rocky Ridgway of Tomstone, Arizona, 2 daughters, Vickie Crabb of Tustin, California aqnd Penny Boyd of Stratford, Texas, 5 brothers, Hank Ridgway of Lake Isabella, California, Andrew Ridgway of Lancaster, California, Bill Ridgway of Kanab, Utah, Gene Ridgway of Ontario, California, Phil Ridgway of Higgins, Texas, and 1 sister, JoAnn Powers of Colorado Springs, Colorado, 4 grandchildren, Jill, Kevin, Kenny and Trent, and 1 great grandson, Kamran and a host of family and friends. Graveside services will be Saturday, July 22, 2006 at Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma at 10:30 A.M. The family will be at the home of Leonard and Margie McDaniel in Durham, Oklahoma on Friday evning, July 21 and Saturday, July 22.
