Surnames: West, Kendall, Farni, Carr Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/5YB.2ACE/6832 Message Board Post: William Lee (Willie) West, age 94, was bron in Green County, Texas to John Henry and Sally Elizabeth West on July 27, 1887 and died Sunday afternoon February 14, 1982 in the Sayre Memorial Hospital. Mr. West moved with his parents to Western Oklahoma in 1898. In 1909 he was married to Lillian Kendall in the Kendall family home north east of Cheyenne. They made their home in Strong City until Mrs. West's death. In 1969 he moved to Sayre and lived there since that time. He was retired, a member of the First Baptist Church of Sayre and a member of the Masonic Lodge for 52 years. Those who preceded him in death in addition to his wife were his parents and one sister. Survivors include one daughter, Virginia Lee Farni of Sayre; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Nannie Carr of Sayre. Memorial services for Mr. West will be held Thursday, February 18, 1982 at 10 A.M. in the First Baptist Church of Sayre with Albert Warnken and Lynn Heard officiating. Interment will follow in the Strong City Cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Sayre in charge of arrangements.
