She was converted and united with the United Brethren Church at the age of 15 years. On January 1, 1901 she was united in marriage to William H. Allen at Shawnee, Oklahoma. To this union 8 children were born 4 daughters and 4 sons; Mrs. Willie Hardy, Clara Edna, Emily, Ted, LeRoy, Daniel and Clarence. All survive her besides her husband, W.H. Allen, also 2 daughters-in-law, 1 son-in-law, 3 grandchildren, 3 sisters: Mrs. Joe Davis, Mrs Cherry and Mrs. Tom Hess, 2 brothers, R.J. and J.L. Matthews besides many other relatives and friends. She departed this life on September 17, 1931 at her home near Sweetwater, Oklahoma, where she has resided since her marriage. She was a kind and affectionate mother. The funeral services were held at the home Friday evening at 3 P.M. September 18, 1931 with Rev. A.J. Hmailton of the Erick Methodist church officiating. Burial in the Mulberry cemetery, Sweetwater, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Littrell and Moore in charge. Sayre Headlight, Sayre, OK 24-Sep-1931
