He passed away March 7, 2009 near Erick, Oklahoma at the age of 30 years, 10 months and 23 days. Justin attended school at Cheyenne and Sayre. He later began working in the oilfield and welding. Justin was a devoted father and loved spending time with his family and playing with his nieces and nephews. He was one of kind and had a special personality and unique sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his son, Willy Levi Archer, maternal grandparents, Lonnie Batchelor and Jo Roush, paternal grandparents Willie and Doris Archer. He is survived by his son, Jonathan Archer; his financee Jennifer Wynn, Sayre, Oklahoma; mother, Lou Barnes and husband James; father Johnny Archer and wife Dianne of Sayre, Oklahoma; two brothers Frank Archer and Jody Archer, both of Sayre, Oklahoma; stepbrother, Elijah Barnes of Edmond, stepsister Tara Gordon of Elk City, Oklahoma and maternal step-grandmother Linda Batchelor of Sayre and a host of relatives and friends. Services were held Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Trinity Fellowship, officiated by Andy Taylor. Burial followed at the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direcvtion of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Born in Trail, Oklahoma, on November 27, 1933 to Viola Blanche Benear and George Ross Allen. Randall was schooled in Dewey County, including Trail, Leedey and graduating from Camargo. He lived and farmed in the Trail and Taloga area for many years. Randall and his family later moved to Amarillo, Texas in the early 80's. Since 1997 Randall's residence has been in Blanchard, Oklahoma with his dear wife, Deloris. Upon his retirement, Randall could be found in his garden that surrounded his home. Many hours of love and care were spent planning, trimming and caring for the numerous beautiful plants and flowers that surrounded the house. He could still split a block of wood on the first swing when other younger healthier men struggled. Randall also enjoyed going to auctions and searching for antique cookie jars among other various and sundry gems. Randall offered many hours of visiting and comfort and support to family members and friends' in their time of need, whether at their hospital side or visiting with them in their home. Randall offered whatever assistance he could. His huge heart and hands cannot be replaced and will be missed so much. Randall was preceded in death by his parents, Viola Blanche and George Ross Allen, as well as his four siblings, brothers, Melvin (Mary Roise) Allen, Leroy Allen and David Allen; sisters, Marjorie (Nick) Nichols; and special cousin, Wilma Day. Randall is survived by his wife Deloris Allen; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Earl Parsons, daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Stephen Griffin, and granddaughter Haley; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and BarBara Allen and grandsons, Payden and David; sisters-in-law, Iva Allen and Jean Allen. Survivors also include step-childrren Darla Jo Montgomery, Leslie Montgomery and Frank Taddiono, Rick and Jan Montgomery. Grandchildren include Melissa,Shane, Tony, Andy, JoAnna; numerous special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 23, 2008 in the First Baptist Church, Leedey, Oklahoma with burial following in Trail Cemetery. Services arranged bt Shaw Funeral Home, Leedey, Oklahoma. She had nine siblings, six sisters and three brothers: Irene Spearman, Mary Ingram, Dorrisx Milan, Bell Harris, Eller McDaniels, Nickey Smitherman, Gene Butler, Don Butler and James (Kinky) Butler, Frances and Sam Merwin wed in El Paso, Texas January 30, 1964. Approximately; 7 years later in 1971 they moved to Cheyenne, Oklahoma becoming long time residents. She quickly became a valued friend and confidant to all that knew her. "To know her is to love her." She gave birth to seven wonderful children. Three girls Sammie Merwin, of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Glenda Palmer of Joplin, Missouri, Debbie Ford of Wichita, Falls, Texas, and Four boys: Bill Merwin, of Elk City, Oklahoma, Scott Merwin of Sentinel, Oklahoma, Troy Brown formerly of Mesa, Arizona, and Timmy Butler of Fort Stockton, Texas. She passed away at 4:15 a.m. February 26, 2009 at the age of 70 in her home nine miles north of Cheyenne, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents Louise and Emmit Butler, her loving husband Samuel E. Merwin of Cheyenne, her middle son Troy Brown, her two brothers Gene and Kinky Butler, Bell Harris of Big Springs, Texas, Irene Spearman of Brownwood, Texas, Eller McDaniel of Jackonsville, Texas and her great granddaughter Nexis Boden of Great Bend, Kansas. She was survived by her loving sons Bill and Scott Merwin and Timmy Butler and her beautiful daughters Sammie Merwin, Glenda Palmer and Debbie Ford. She left behind 25 spectuacular grandchildren, 32 lovable great grandchildren and four precious great-great grandchildren. She was famous for her words of love and generousity. "If I have a roof you have a place to stay dry". She will forever be loved and cherished by all those that were blessed to know her in life and sorely missed with her passing. Services were held March 3, 2009 at 2p.m. at Cheyenne First Baptist Church officiated by Jeff Hurlbut. Burial followed at Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Ruth Brown was born to Beecher and Clara Mott on March 16, 1926. She died on February 26, 2009, just a few days short of being 83, in a hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born and raised in Coinnecticut. She met her husband, Morton Brown, while he was attending Yale Divinity School in the mid-40's. Her career positions were as a pastor's wife in churches served in Oklahoma, and Lodi and Sacramnento, California. After they moved to Orange, California she became a school secretary, where she retired from the Orange Unified School district in retirement, they spent several years traveling in their RV and doing volunteer work at U.S. National Park location. They settled in Elk City, in Juner of 1995, and Morton subsequently died in December 1996. Ruth is survived by her son, James Russell Brown, and grandson, Joseph Russell Brown, both of Elk City, niece Quita R. Bowels of Placerville, California, nephew, David E. Mott of Ontario, California; a cousin: friends and several relatives by marriage in the Elk City and Hammon areas. He then attended multiple vocational and college courses for cryogenic gas processing and electricity plants. Trace married Diana Marie Musser on June 8, 1985, in Upland, California. They were blessed with 23 wonderful years together and three children, Chandle Marie, Samantha Ruth, and Sarah Kay. The family lived in Upland, California, Pleasant Hill, California, Leedey, Oklahoma, Kingman, Arizona and Burns Flat, Oklahoma. Trace's life was based on a strong foundation of Christian values, ideals, and work, practiced on a daily basis. He loved writing and recording music and words to praise the Lord. He enjoyed playing all musical instruments, playing golf or any other sport, and especially loved coaching his daughter's softball teams. Trace worked as a lead operator at the Clinton gas processing plant for Enogex. He received many music and vocal awards including Louis Armstrong Jazz Award, National Association of Jazz Educators Outstanding Vocal Musican and being in Who's Who Music in America. He also received many sports award in high school. Trace was baptized in 1978 and rededicated to the Lord Jesus in 2007. He loved being on Praise and Worship Teams and Praise Chapel in Kingman, Arizona. He attended Grandview Church in Elk City, Oklahoma. Trace was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Carl and Ruth Clevinger, maternal grandmother Dorothy Campbell, maternal grandfather Chalmers Carl Wallace, sister Debra Dawn Clevinger and mother-in-law Ruth Musser. Glenda was a member of the Southwest Baptist Church where she loved and taught children for over 30 years. She loved all her family, especially her children, grandchildren and had a special devotion to all her nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her family and friends. He departed this life October 28, 1929 at his home near Hamburg, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years, 6 months, 11 days. He was the son of Bennet and Lucy Barber Thurmasn. Mr. Thurman taught school 8 years and was County Supt. for 4 years. At the age of 21, he moved to Neosho, Missouri where he practiced law for 11 years and continued practicing for about 20 years in all. He returned to Kentucky and gave loving care to the declining years of his mother, his father having died in 1883. On February 7, 1896, Mr. Thurman was married at Hodgenville, Kentucky to Maggie Price. To this union was born 4 childen: Nicholas, Jack, Lucy Belle and Joseph B. Lucy Belle age 2 years and Jack B. age 6 months preceded their father in death. He is survived by his wife, two sons Nick and Joe, two grandsons of whom he was inordinately proud, one niece and one nephew. Mr. Thurman was baptized into the faith of ! the Baptist Church at Neosho, Missouri at the age of 25 years. A week ago he had a hemorrhage on the brain that caused pariasl paralysisd which was soon followed by another stroked that closed his life in this world. He was a loving husband and father and such a neighbor that all who have known him in the 25 years that he lived here (Oklahoma will feel they have lost a real friend. Services were conducted at Union Chapel Cemetery on Tuesday afternoon, December 29, 1929. Melvin attended school at Midway and graduated from Reydon High School, Reydon, Oklahoma in 1946. He graduated from Panhandle State University, Goodwell, Oklahoma in 1950. He was in the Aggie Club and the Roughneck Club while there. He married Virgie Aliene Tidrick on January 21, 1951. He entered into the US Army in 1951 also. He was trained in Anti-Aircraft Artillery in preparation for serving his country in Korea. Melvin was honorably discharged in 1953. Melvin and Virginia moved to Garden City, Kansas where they worked on a ranch. Melvin continued to farm until his death on February 13, 1998. He was looked to for guidance by many young farmers of the community. He was known for being very knowlegeable on many different subjects. He is survived and missed by his wife Virgie of the home; 2 daughters, Melv! ena and her husband John Hedisch of Oklahoma City and Charlotte and her husband Johnny Nance of Enid; 1 son Harold and his wife Marika of Topeka; 6 grandchildren: Derek, Amanda, Camille and Vanessa of Topeka, Kansas; Laura Marie and John of Enid, Oklahoma, 1 brother, Merle B. Thurman of Aztec, New Mexico and his wife Jean; his mother-in-law, Marie Ticrick of Reydon, and many other relatives and friends.
