E. Oran Coble, pastor of the Christian church of Elk City officiating. Mr. Young died Thursday, March 27, 1947 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Andrew Clyde Young was born October 11, 1867, at Carbondale, Kansas. When he was four years old he went with his parents and younger brother in a covered wagon train across Kansas to Pueblo, Colorado. In 1878 he returned to Carbondale wqith his mother and brothers where he attended school for thre years. At the end of this period they rejoined his father in Texas. About 1886 he received a diploma from the State Teachers College at Emporia, Kansas. While thre he became a member of the Christian church. Immediately after graduation he went o the Texas Panhandle from where he ranged cattle and horses into western Oklahoma. At the opening of the cheyenne and Arapaho territory, he with his father and brothers established a ranch on Dead Indian creek, eight miles north of Cheyenne. He lived here all the remainder of his life, with the exception of one year spent in Montana. He was married to Della Cann in January, 1907. To this union three children were born, Frances Elizabeth Warrington of Virginia, Marian Vashti Holt and Clyde Jr., both of Bartlesville. All of these were present at the funeral. Mr. Young is survived by the three children, one sister, Mrs. Verna Gowdy, two brothers, Roy and Leon and five grandchildren: Charles Francis Warrington, Nancy, Bill and Richard Holt, and Susan Young. Mr. Young's outstanding traits were: his willingness to help the man who wad down; his great dislike for pomp and insincerity; his kindness and generosity to all mankin; and the love of his home and family. Burial in Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills county, Oklahoma.

July 12, 1919 he was united in marriage to Ollie Cole. To this union was born 11 children, two of whom preceded him in death. All of his family were present at the time of his passing. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and nine children; 3 boys, Buster, Joe, J.A. and six girls; Nellie, Marie, Maxine, Pearline, Barbara dn Mrs. Lorene Graham, all of the home address; his father, John H. Wood; two brothers, John M. Wood, Bardwell, Kentucky, Mike Wood, Reydon, Oklahoma; four sisters, Mrs. Bertha Moon, Durham, Oklahoma, Mrs. John Van Valkinbureg, Pawhuska, Oklahoma, Mrs. Mary Teague, Mapa, California and Mrs. Ernest Vandagriff of Reydon, Oklahoma and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Reydon community building after which committal was in the Fairview cemetery near Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Rev. Horace Woodard had charge of the funeral services with Scroggins Funeral Home of Cheyenne directing the entire services.

In his early teens he started working his way toward Texas. He rode the range for many years. In 1900 he came to the Panhandle of Texas. In 1892 he came to Oklahoma Territory. In 1898 he homesteaded a place southeast of Grimes. He was married to Polly Puryear on May 5, 1901. To this union three children were born. Uncle Charlie, as he was affectionately know, was always pleasant and ready to help anyone in need. He was a devoted husband and father. He was always praised for his honesty and integrity. He had a wonderful philosophy of life. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Polly Wood of the home address, two daughters and one son, who are: Mrs. Emma Spencer of Sayre, Oklahoma, Mrs. Kate Bowman of Bartlesville, Okla.; C.A. Wood, Jr., of Grimes. Also one grandson, Robert Allan Wood. Another pioneer of the west had gone and will be sadly missed by his family and a host of friends. He accepted Christ as his saviour at the age of 18 years and lived a devoted Christian life. He was a member of the Church of Christ. On September 20, 1892 at Neosho, Missouri he was united in marriage to Miss Marty Parthena Spears. To this union eight children were born. One daughter, Mary Marie, preceded him in death on May 1, 1904. The family moved to Oklahoma and settled on their present homestead in May, 1905. Brother Wood is survived by his wife of the home address and three sons and four daughters, I.O. Wood of Phoenix, Arizona; L.H. Wood of reydon; Mrs. Mattie B. Mead of Torrance, California; Mrs. S.M> Drake of Alamosa, Colorado, Mrs. Ruby E. Isch of Reydon, and Mrs. Orpha D. Gifford of Midwest City, Oklahoma. He is survived by twenty grandchildren, eleven great grand children, bersides a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services wre held from the Dempsey school Friday afternoon, March 10, 1950 at 2 o'clock. Jack Cox, minister, Sayre Church of Christ officiated. Burial was in the Dempsey cemetery, Dempsey, Roger Mills county, Oklahoma with Scroggins Funeral home in charge.

At the age of six weeks, he moved to Iowa with his family and lived threre until 1896. From there he moved to Kansas where they lived for three years. He then came to Eastern Oklahoma where he lived for awhile, and then moved with his parents, aaron and Margarett Ellenor Wineinger to Roger Mills County in 1902. He enlised in the U.S. Army, December 13, 1917. He was discharged at Camp Custer, Michigan, March 8, 1918 with the rank of Sergeant in the Quartermaster Corps. On August 13, 1924, he married Paulie anna Yost at Cheyenne, Oklahoma. He had his own business at Midway, but later moved to Reydon and continued his business for several years until he retired. Jim was an active member in the Odd Fellows, American Legion, Rebekahs, Reydon Chamber of Commerce, and the Patriarchs Militant at Elk City, Oklahoma. He was a very loving husband and was loved by his many friends and school children. He is survived by his wife, Pauline, and one brother, Roy Wineinger and wife, of Rowe, New Mexico. Other relatives are two nephews, Raymond Wineinger, of Denver, Colorado, and Leroy Wineinger, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, two nieces, Mrs. M.E. Campbell of Amarillo, Texas, and Mrs. James Walsh, of Las Vegas, New Mexico. Burial in White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. (Published in Cheyenne Star May 5, 1949)

Ernie Wilson was killed last Saturday afternoon on the streets of Perryton, Texas. Mr. Wilson was driving a tractor and was ateempting to make a turn when the tractor overturned on him killing him instantly. Mr. Wilson, son of J.J. Wilson, deceased and Mrs. Nancy A. Wilson of Crawford resided in the Crawford community for a number of years but had resided near Spearman, Texas, and had moved to near Perryton, Texas about six months ago. He was employed as a ranch laborer. Funeral services for Mr. Wilson were conducted at the Crawford school auditorium Tuesday afaternoon with Rev. Brodace Elkins, pastor of the Methodist church of Cheyenne in charge of the services. Interment was in the Silent Home cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County under the directionof scroggins Funeral Home of Cheyenne. James Ernest Wilson was born May 1, 1899 near Crawford, Oklahoma. He was married to Ella Dodson April 27, 1927. Survivors include his wife and two children, Jimmie Ernestine Wilson and Jackie John Wilson, all of Perryton, Texas. Other survivors are his mother, Mrs. Nancy A. Wilson of Crawford, three brothers, R.E. Wilson, J.D. Wilson and j.J. Wilson, all of Crawford; two sister, Mrs. Ruth Cantrell of Crawford, and Mrs. Alice Leach of Portland, Oregon; one half-brother, R.L. She was born at Godgard, Kansas, August 23, 1880 was married to George S. Wilcox May 11, 1897. Six children were born to this union four girls and two boys, one little boy having gone before the mother. Those living are: Blanch, Minnie, Bertha, Iva and George Mason. She also leaves a father and four sisters., her father and two sisters lives in this community. The community has lost a good friend and neighbor. To know her was to love her. A large company of relatives and friends gathered at the Bellview cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma Thursday Jan. 30, 1913 to pay last tribute of love to her. This is a very sad bereavement to Mr. Wilcox, one of the best and most respected citixens of Roger Mills county. The many friends of Mr. Wilcox and children sympathises with them in the loss of a loved wife and mother.

The flowers which banked the entire front of the church were evidence of the many friends Mrs. Williams had. Rev. Don Anderson delivered the funeral sermon with the Cheyenne School choir furnishing the music. Mrs. Williams had resided in Cheyenne during the past twelve years and had formed many close friendships. Her kind, gentle manner made friends for her among both the young and the old. Her disposition was such that her influence was to elevate the standards of those with whom she associated. Ruth Mae Williams was born January 8, 1919 near Roll, Oklahoma and passed away in the Wesley Hospital in Oklahoma City on January 18, 1950 at the early age of thirty-one years. On Thanksgiving Day, 1939, she was married to R.G. Williams of Cheyenne. To this union one son, bobby Dwain, was born. Surviving her are the husband and son, and her mother, Mrs. Nora Cook of Cheyenne, Oklahoma. Other survivors are one sister, Mrs. Louise Gear of amarillo, Texas, three half sisters and four half-brothers. They are Zella Cunningham, Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Nellie Rorabaugh, Aretsia, California; and Pearl Rogers of Denver, Colorado; Bill Logan, Portland, Oregon; Charlesx Logan, Falls City, Nebraska; Thomas Logan and Benny Logan, both of Artesia, California. Burial was made in the Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of the Scroggins Funeral Home of this city.

The family came from illinois in June of 1901 and have lived at their present home ever since. Mr. Wheeler was a man of good character; a loving, kind and understanding father; a faithful husband. Mrs. Warren was formerly Ethel Maddux, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Maddux who have resided northeast of Cheyenne since 1892. Besides her parents, Mrs. Warren is survived by one sister, Mrs. Bill Swartwood, and two brothers, C.F. Maddux and Albert Maddux, all of Cheyenne. Mrs. Warren and her husband suffered critical burns from a gas explosion at their home in Elk City, Oklahoma, last Wednesday morning, when Mr. Warren struck a match to light the hot water heater. Mrs. Warren passed away Sunday evening March 22, 1942. Matt Warren, the husband is not expected to live. The Maddux family have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement. Ethel Jane Maddux was born July 24, 1898 at Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma where she grew to young womanhood, attending the Cheyenne School. She was married January 29, 1927 to Arlie Albert Warren, known to all his friends as "Mat." They made their home at Burns Flat, Oklahoma, with the exception of bried periods when his work carried him elsewhere, living at Elk City for the past year, where she departed this life Sunday, March 22, 1942 at 7:00 p.m. at the age of 43 years, 7 months, and 28 days. At the time of her death she was a member of the Burns Flat Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She spent her entire life near the place of her birth and because of her radiant disposition and her personal interest in her friends, she number friends b y her acquaintances. Burial in Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.

Guier of Durham, died February 18, 1917 at her home in Larinie, Wyo., after a prolonged illness. Besides her parents, she leaves a husband, two small children and two sisters, Mrs. Laura Bowden and Miss Ella Guier to morn her loss. Mrs. Wall was born at Crosstimber, Mo., Sept. 18, 1891, was married Dec. 25, 1908, to George Wall of Custer City, Okla. the remains were brought to Durham and funeral services were conducted at the church. Messrs, W.A. Wiley, Frank Baker, William Gabbart, Edgar Vaughn and Fred Hensley officiated as pall-bearers, bearin the casket to the Fairview cemetery, Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. A wreath of beautiful flowers given in sympathy by the business people of Durham, was burried with her, and she often expressed a wish to have flowers to take when she had to go. Mr. Wall's mother, sister and an aunt came from Thomas, to attend the funeral. Mrs. Walls' illness was of long duration and painful, but what a message of comfort to her loved ones that was breathed in her last words "I've come to the River. It's not a dark river-but a bright shinning river with beautiful lights. Don't touch me-Don't bring me back-I want to go."

In 1920 she was united in marriage to Arthur White. To this union one son was born. Her husband preceded her in death in 1926. August 11, 1927 she was united in marriage to R.C. Walker in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. To this union three daughters were born. Mrs. Walker with her family has lived in Beckham and Roger Mills counties for a number of years. They moved to the Herring community from Cherokee County, Oklahoma. Mrs. Walker with her family moved to Cheyenne six years ago. Mrs. Walker was a member of the Church of Christ in Cheyenne. She was a devoted companion and mother. She was loved by her neighbors and friends, and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. Survivors include her husband, R.C. Walker, one son, James White, three daughters, Geraldine Miller, Monteze Walker, and Nettie Mae Walker, two grandsons, Larry James White, and Jerry Miller all of Cheyenne; two step-daughters, Mable Pierson, Oaklan, California, Estelle Hogeland, Kansas City, Kansas, three step-sons, Leon Walker, Kansas City, Kansas, Odell Walker, San Gable, California and Tom Walker, Red Bluff, Wyoming and one sister, Ruth Davis of Afton, Oklahoma. Burial in Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
