    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Latrop, McDaniel, Heaston Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/5YB.2ACE/2621 Message Board Post: In the death of Mrs. Charles Lathrop, Strong City lost one of her best and most generally loved citizens. For many years she, with her family, had lived in and near Strong City. Through these years she has taken an active part in the affairs of the town until in recent years when her health began to fall. Since then she has been less active in church and other community work. The love and respect of her many friends and neighbors was shown by the immense throng which gathered at the Methodist church to attend her funeral and by the evidence of grief on thei faces. She was taken to the hospital at Elk City for an operation for gall stone and other troubles. The operation seemed to successful, but she lacked the necessary vitality to survive the strain and died just a short time before midnight, December 7, 1925. Mrs. Lathrop who was formerly Miss Narissa McDaniel, was born in Harrison county, Mo., Mary 12, 1876. She was married to Charles Lathrop May 16, 1895. To them were born six children, three of whom died in infancy; three, Helen, June and Lane, with her husband and a sister, Mrs. Charles Heaston of Emporia, Kansas, she leaves behind to mourn her loss. Mrs. Lathrop united with the Methodist Episcopal church when quite young. She was at the time of her death identified with the Methodist Church, South. One off her favorite sons, "Do your duty now", very aptly expresses her devotion to her Master and to His cause. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Strong City and of the Royal Neighbors. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Fred Wright, pastor of the Baptist church, assisted by Rev. Stout, pastor of the Methodist church. The Rebekahs rendered a very beautiful and impressive ceremony at the Strong City Cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma in honor of their departed sister. The many friends and neighbors of the bereaved share with them in their sorrow and grief at the loss of their loved one and extend to them genuine sympathy in this hour of sore trial. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Keller, Mangold Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/5YB.2ACE/2617 Message Board Post: A gloom was cast over the Durham community the latter part of last week by the sad intelligence being flashed over the wire to the Keller family of the death of George Keller and that his body was being shipped to Durham for interment. George was a young man just entering into manhood with a bright future before him. He was admired and loved by all who knew him numbering his friends by his acquanintance. He was a young man of clean habits and good morals, having comfessed the Lord as his savior at a meeing held at Durham last May by Rev. Gilliam. He underwent an operation for appendicitis a little over a year ago and since that time he has had to be very careful about doing heavy work for fear of injuring himself. It is thought that probably over extertion was the cause of the locked bowel that caused his death. A surgeon from Oklahoma City was summoned and upon making an incision at once saw that it was to late to render any service that would even prolong his life. George only lived a few hours after the operation, but was conscious until the end. George Willis Keller, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Keller who live near Durham, and who are well known in this community. He was born December 7, 1897 making him 20 years and located in Roger Mills county, which has been his home ever since. He leaves to mourn his death a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Keller, two brothers, John and Bud Keller and two sisters Mrs. C.O. Mangold and Miss Opal Keller, all of whom reside near Durham. The funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church at that place by Rev. W.B. Gilliam of Rockey, Oklahoma, who was pastor in charge last year. It was through the deep feeling of friendship George and the Keller family cultivated for Rev. Gilliam that he was asked to return and conduct the funeral services. After the consoling sermon at the church, the large crowd followed the remains to the Fairview cemetery, Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma where the body was laid to rest. The Star extends to the bereaved our heartfelt sympathy and condolence. (Cheyenne Star April 4, 1918)

They had driven one mile south and about a half mile ease of Crawford when the car turned turle pinning all four of the girls under the car, the door settling down on Leva Keahey's throat and chest, the other three girls succeeded in liberating themselves with a nail file just about the time Albert and Maude Rorabaugh and Marshall Young arrived at the scene and lifted the car off the Keahey girl. She was immediately taken to Crawford where a doctor was summoned, who pronounced her dead it was thought that some signs of life were evidenced upon their arrival at Crawford, but it was probably only the relaxing of muscles. Miss Keahey was the 15 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs Henry Keahey near Crawford. The Young girls are the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Young of Crawford. It is thought that the cause of the car was hard to drive and the girls were cautioned before starting on the drive. Hunt of Cheyenne and D.N. hunt of Strong City, Wallace Hunt, deceased. Mrs. Hunt united with the Presbyterian church at the age of 12, in later years she and her husband united with the Methodist church and lived a devoted Christian life the remainder of her life. Mes. Hunt departed this life Tuesday January 22, 1929 at the home of her son, R.L. Hunt who resides a few miles southwest of Cheyenne. At the time of her death she was 84 years and 13 days of age. Grandma Hunt as she was so familiarly called has made her home in this community since the opening of the country to settlement, and has at all times been loved and respected by all who knew her. Of late years, on account of her advanced age has not been able to enjoy the fellowship of her many friends, but those who know the earlier history of this community will remember her as a conscientious and devoted Christian worker, and a scatterer of sunshine aong life's pathway of those less fortunate. While her life was extended beyond the alloted time of man, her passing is a great loss to her family and the community. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church in this city Wednesday afternoon with Rev. C.E. Rhoades officiating after which the remains were laid to rest in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. All the children were present at the funeral as well as a large number of grand children. The Star joins with the bereaved in this sad hour.
