They are Charlene Beaty of Oklahoma City and Haworth Beaty of Greenfield, Miss. On October 18, 1927 he was married to Marie Powell of Durham. To this union two children were born, Bill Beaty, who died in 1950 and Jim now serving with the Air Force in Lubbock, Texas. Other survivors include one brother, Carrol E. Beaty of Humansville, MO.; and two sisters, Mrs. C. E. Essex, also of Humansville and Mrs. Helen Wyman of Denver, Colorado; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ola Beaty of Miller, South Dakota. She was brought to the Cheyenne Municipal hospital where she died Wednesday morning, July 14, 1954. Lovena Gail Allen was born August 22, 1952, and passed away July 14, 1954 at the Cheyenne hospital. Funeral services were held at the Crawford school July 14, with Rev. A. L. Martin officiating. Burial was in Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.W. Allen, Jr. of Crawford, three sisters, Phyllis June, Janice and Christina, and one brother, Larry, all of the home address. He moved with his parents to Ardmore, Indian Territory, when four years old, and to Rankin, now Reydon, in 1903. He was united in marriage to Verna Mallett, February 1, 1907, at Cheyenne. They went to housekeeping where they have lived since, except five years in Colorado. He was baptised into the Church of Christ 46 years ago and has lived a consistent Christian life since. He leaves to mourn his wife, Verna Yowell, of the home, one son, Billy Dean Yowell, and one great grandson, Jimmy Lee Yowell, of Durham, four nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, his father, mother, two sisters and three brothers. He is the last of his immediate family. He was of the few western pioneers who conserved the soil and used modern farming methods. He entered the grocery and market business in 1930 and operated until his health failed, and his son purchased the business. His friends are numbered by those who knew him. He was a faithful and loving husband and father, and ever ready to help in time of need, always cheerful even in illness. The community is saddened by his passing. Funeral services were conducted Thursday at the Community Building in Reydon with John C. Spurlin, Church of Christ pastor, assisted by Rev. Horace Woodard, in charge. She had made her home, with Mr. and Mrs. Cleto Franklin since July, 1956. Mrs. Yost was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband in December, 1943, and one infant daughter. Mr. Wood passed away at the Cheyenne hospital, Wednesday December 19, 1956 where he had been for several years. John H. Wood was a pioneer of the Reydon community and one of the outstanding citizens of Roger Mills County. He was a person who took a decided stand on any issue and stood firmly upon his convictions of right and wrong. Capable of strong friendships, he was one upon whom friend could rely. Mr. Wood was a person whose character of honesty and integerity was without belmish. In the passing of John H. Wood, Roger Mills County has lost a stalwart pioneer, but his influcence will live on for years to come. John Henry Wood, the son of T.F. Wood and Susie Ann Wood, was born October 27, 1868, at Ashville, North Carolina, and departed this life December 19, 1956 at the age of 88 years, one month and 23 days. He was united in marriage to Maggie Plemmons at Ashville in 1892. To this union was born ten children, Bertha Moon, Durham, Oklahoma, John M. Wood, Granite, Oklahoma, Dessie Van Volkinburg, Pawhuska, Oklahoma, Mary Teague, Hoquiam, Washington, Mike Wood, Reydon, Oklahoma, and Susie Vandagriff, Artesia, New Mexico. His wife and four children preceded him in death. He homesteaded in Roger Mills County in 1901 and had made his home here since that time. She died July 3, 1956 in Perryton, Texas, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jim Anderson. She, with her family, moved to Virginia when she was five years old and there she grew to womanhood. She attended Milligan college at Johnson City, Tennessee. With her parents she came west in 1900 and filed on land in western Oklahoma then known as Indian Territory. While proving up her claim she taught and also helped organize schools. In 1907 she married George A. Watson, a class mate at Milligan and a minister of the First Christian church. They served several churches in Virginia until the doctors advised them to return west for Mr. Watson's health. He then filed on land adjoining hers. Here they raised their family. Early in life she took up the study of Christian Science and later became a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, Mass. She was very active in community affairs. She helped organize and was the first president of the D.W.W. club. Mr. Watson preceded her in death in 1933. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ferman Williams, Canadian, Texas, Mrs. Debs Riley and Mrs. Jim Anderson, Perryton, Texas; two foster sons, Ernest Watson, Durham, and Jack Jones, Portales, New Mexico; two brothers, H.M. He was a member of the Methodist church. He was married to Anna Mae Jones on December 24, 1905 at Ringold, Texas, who died in 1945. He was married to Mrs. Blanche Kimbel on April 18, 1949. Committal was in the Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Scroggins Funeral Home. Mr. Trammell died Sunday afternoon, December 11, 1955, after an illness of several months. He was born August 17, 1865 and was 90 years of age. Immediate survivors include the wife of the home address and three daughters. They are Mrs. A.C. Upchurch, Oklahoma City, Mrs. W.S. Cary, Reydon, and Mrs. Frankie Danner, Waynoka, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Methodist church and the Masonic Lodge of Cheyenne. Mrs. Trammell passed away in the Cheyenne hgospital, Thursday April 15, 1957, after a long illness. Mrs. Trammell was born Elizabeth Rushin at Corsicani, Texas, May 3, 1869. On August 2, 1883 she was married to Phillip Trammell. To this union six children were born, three of whom survive. They are Mrs. Ethel Upchurch, Oklahoma City, Mrs. Ruth Cary, Reydon and Mrs. Frankie Danner, Waynoka. Her husband preceded her in death in December 1955. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Aunt Betty, as she was known to her many friends, loved people especially young people. As long as she maintained a home her friends were always welcome and she always insisted upon them eating with her. Mrs. Trammell was a member of the Methodist church of Cheyenne. During her last illness eh was very appreciative of the kindness of friends and always had a feeling of gratitude towards those who cared for her. He was united in marriage to Minnie Dame at Ada, Oklahoma on December 12, 1912. To this union was born five children, Floyd Townsley of San Jose, California, Mrs. Harley Blundell of Crawford, Mrs. Joe Merritt of Crawford, Mes. Kennith Merritt of Dennis, Oklahoma, and Amy Townsley, who preceded him in death. He was converted at an early age and a short time preceding his passing he rededicated his heart to Jesus. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Minnie Townsley, the four children, five brothers, Frank of Turlock, California, Roy of Palm City, California, Lee of Crawford, Harvey of Rogers, Arkansaw and Wesley of Vanadiun, New Mexico; three sisters, Miss Maggie Townsley of Canadian, Texas, Mrs. Rachel Richerson of Eldorado, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Ivey Brinkley of Lancaster, California, ten grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were held in the Crawford auditorium with Rev. A.L. Martin officiating. He leaves to mourn his passing one son, Wilbert Marion of the home address; four sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Withers of Coweta, Oklahoma, Mrs. Anna Belle Bright of Wichita, Kansas, Mrs. Ruth Ostrander of Sun Valley, California, and Mrs. Rose Dena Tucker of Miami, Oklahoma; two brothers, Murray Tidwell of Grimes and Grady Tidwell of Altus, Oklahoma, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was a long time member of the Baptist church. Bernice Myrtle Tidwell was born at Mountain View, Oklahoma November 5, 1901, and passed away in a sudden disaster (tornado) on May 25, 1955, at her home in the Grimes community. She leaves to mourn her passing one son Wilbert Marion of the home address; four brothers, Royal L. Ballard of Frederick, Oklahoma, Jody W. Ballard of Rocky Ford, Colorado, Dwight L. Ballard of Houston, Texas, and Kenneth W. Ballard of Wewoka, Oklahoma, also nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Tidwell was a long time member of the Baptist church. Funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Tidwell were conducted in the high school auditorium in Cheyenne Sunday afternoon, Mary 29, 1955. Rev. Burton Benham, pastor of the Baptist church at Reydon, and Rev. J.F. Wilkerson, pastor of the Baptist church at Cheyenne, conducted the servies.
