Sanford of Reydon, three sisters, Mrs. Joyce Cantrell of Cheyenne, and Teresa Rae and Glathea Marie, both of the home address; one brothber, Wilbur Sanford of Liberal, Kansas; her grandmother, Mrs. Roxie Sanford of Reydon. Two brothers preceded her in death. The funeral services were held at the Reydon community building, Wednesday, March 24, 1954 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Earnest miller aand Rev. Mrs. Prestridge came to Roger Mills County with her husband in the early days and resided in the Strong City community until a few years ago when she moved to Cheyenne. Lula Maude Cofer was born February 10, 1876 in Leon county, Texas. On February 8, 1894, she was married to Andy C. Prestridge in Coke County, Texaas. To this union two children were born, Cletis Ivy and Larkin A., both of whom are deceased. After the death of her daughter, Mrs. Ernest Kdnall, Mrs. Prestridge cared for her six grandchildren. Immediate survivors are her husband, Andy C. At the age of 16 they moved to Tom Green County, Texas. When 23 years of age he was united in marrriage with Lula Maude Cofer at Tennyson, Texas. To this union two children were born, Cletice Ivory and Larkin Augustus, "Pete as everyone called him. They moved to Indian Territory to the present town of Ardmore, Oklahoma. Here both children were born. In 1899 they moved to Strong City where they homesteaded a farm which they made their home for 54 years, then moved to Cheyenne. It was on this farm where their children grew up and where he enjoyed his grandchildren. During these years he served 20 years on the Snaky Bend and Strong City school board. He and his family were charter members of the First Baptist church of Strong City, he being a deacon for 40 years ever faithful. He lived a very good and faithful life, always ready to help anyone in need. Everyone who knew him remembers him as a good, Christian man. He departed this life in the Cheyenne Hospita Saturday, June 27, 1953 at the age of 82 years 10 months and two days. His dear wife, both children, and all his brothers preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing, his only sister, Mrs. Sarah West of Lawton, Oklahoma; his son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kendall of Torrance, California and six grandchildren: Florence Gray of Liberal, Kansas; Muriel Adams of Fresno, California; Dorothy Summit of Elk City, Oklahoma; Louise Greteman of Canute, Oklahoma; Elwyn Kendall of Rockledge, Florida; Jack Kendall, of Rockledge, Florida; 10 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Males came to Reydon in 1906 and has lived at Clayton for the past 15 years. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Eunice Gamble of Erick, Mrs. Frankie Boughner of Oklahoma City, a step-daughter, Val Dean Sands of Clayton; three sons, E.A. Males of Vallejo, California, F.P. Males of Durham, L.L. Males of Cheyenne, one step-son, Boyd Jones of Little Rock, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Services were held at the First Baptist Church at Reydon Friday, November 26, 1954 at 2:30 p.m. Officiating was Rev. Gentry of Clayton. Interment was in White Rose Cemetery, Redyon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Fatheree-A Funeral Home in charge. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK

Macklin (Bessie Edith) were held Monday afternoon July 27, 1953 at Berlin. Rev. Pete Engle of Berlin and Rev. Merle Andrews of Cheyenne officiated at the services. Mrs. Macklin passed away Sunday, July 26, 1953 in the Sayre hospital after a long illness. Burial was in the Berlin cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of the Scroggins Funeral Home of Cheyenne. She was born September 15, 1882 in Illinois and married September 19, 1901 to O.P. Macklin in Illinois. They moved to western Oklahoma in 1904 from Illinois and had lived there since. She is a long-time member of the United Brethren church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Gladys E. Carr of Tulsa, Mrs. Lula Ford of Cheyenne, Mrs. Opal Houx of Sundown, Texas; one son, Lee Macklin of Leveland, Texas, two brothers, G.A. Flenner, Elk City, James S. Flenner of Cheyenne; three sisters; Mrs. Ann B. Frye of Weatherford, Mrs. Lula Rupp of Cheyenne, Mrs Effie Macklin of Berlin, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, she was preceded in death by her husband. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK

Surnames: Lester, Foster, Bradford Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/5YB.2ACE/2940 Message Board Post: Nannjie Mae Foster, the daughter of Elizabeth Ann and Pleasant Foster was born in Leavenworth County, Kansas February 3, 1879 and passed away June 12, 1953 at her home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years, four months and nine days. She came with her parents and family as pioneers to the newly-opened Sac and Fox lands in Oklahoma during the early 1890's. Later the family moved to farms by Oklahoma City and Yukon, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to James M. Lester at Yukon in December, 1897. To this union were born two daughters, Frankie and Ruth, and five sons, James Murl Jr., Wendell, Max, Clifford and Robert. She was preceded in death by her husband in July 1932, and her son, Max in January 1946, and her son Murl, in June, 1952. Mr. and Mrs. Lester lived in Oklahoma City, west of Enid, and near Nowata, Oklahoma before coming to Roger Mills County in February, 1908 where they continued to reside on a farm near Cheyenne until Mr. Lester's death. Mrs. Lester was an active worker in Baptist church, was a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star lodge and past Noble Grand of the Rebekahs. Mrs. Lester lived in Cheyenne until 1942, when she moved to Shamrock, Texas to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Franie Bradford. In March, 1948, she established a home at 3333 N. W. 23rd St. in Oklahoma City, where she lived until her passing away. Besides her sons and daughters Mrs. Lester is survived by ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and four brothers: Will Foster of Council Grove, Kansas; Ed Foster of Kansas City, Missouri; Joe Foster of Hammon, Oklahoma and many friends. To some home is where one's hat is off, but not to this dear one, but home was Cheyenne with its old friends to whom she was attached.
