The accident happened on a county road 6 1/2 miles northwest of Hammon on Highway 33, thence north 2 miles and 2 1/2 miles west. Mr. Ford was found by Pete Dean, brother of county commissioner Melvin Dean. He was found about 11 0'clock a.m. At the time he was conscious enough to state that the machine slipped into gear and ran over him. He was dragged several feet before the machine ran over him, crushing him. He died at 12 0'clock, noon, a few moments after his arrival at the Cheyenne hospital. Mr. Ford had worked on the county roads in the second commissioner's district in this county for a number of years. Mr. Ford ressided near ammon in the Herring community. Charlie Ford, Born September 30, 1899 was 60 yearsx of age at the time of his death, is survived by his wife, Myrtle, of the home address, and a son Jake and four grandchildren of Weatherford. He was a brother of Tom Ford of Cheyenne. Funeral services were held in Hammon Sunday afternoon after which committal was in the Red Hill cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Jim united with the Methodist Church at Berlin in 1917 of which he has been a member since. Jim was respected by his many friends for his honesty, fair dealings and warm smile. The world mourns his loss, but Heaven rejoices over its gain. Funeral services were conducted in the Berlin Auditorium Sunday afternoon with Rev. Clayton Hughes and Rev. Chester Eakins officiaating. He had resided at Olney, Ill., the past four years where he was sales manager for the Magnet Cove Cuarium Corp. Survivors are his wife, one daughter, Juanita Jo, 6, and one son, Samuel Howard, 7 of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Ernest Condo, Spearman, Texas formerly of Reydon and Crawford; one brother, John Condo, Los Cruces, New Mexico; one sister, Mrs. Allen Jarvis, Perryton, Texas.
