He was united in marriage to Lucy Montgomery at Dempsey, Oklahoma, on December 21, 1915. To this union two children were born. One son, C.L., Reydon and one daughter June of Cheyenne. Also reared in this home was Verbon Baker, Perryton, Texas. Parvon had been engaged in farming and ranching in the Reydon community since 1931. He was a long-time member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Lucy of the home; his son C.L., and daughter-in-law, Hester; his daughter June and son-in-law, Glen Kandall; two grandsons, Charles Hickey, Goodwell, Michael Kendall and granddaughter Lily; a great-granddaughter, Michele Kendall, Reydon; three sisters, Lena Hickey and Opal Luke, Oklahoma City, and Ethel Smith, El Reno; a host of other relatjives and friends. He loved life to the fullest extent. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sa6tudaay, March 22, 1969, in the Reydon community building with Rev. Bill Chace, of Cheyenne and Rev. Dick, 52, Born December 20, 1915of Hammon, was killed early Friday morning, July 12, 1968 when the Mack tractor-cattle trailer rig he was driving jack-nifed at the intersecion of S.H. 73 and S.H. 34, aabout two miles north of Carpenter. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Dick apparently fell asleeep. The t5ruck, proceeding west on S.H. 73, ran the stop sign, traveling 312 feet and landed in a gully. The rig jack-knifed and the trailer separated from the tractor, severing a portion of the cab. Investigating troopers said the driver was apparently killed instantly. He was listed as dead on arrival at Memorial hospital in Elk City. At about 5 a.m. M. L. Hager, an employee of the Rose Trucking Company, discovered the accident. Troopers Curtis Russing, Elk City Unit, and Arthur Barnes of Clinton Unit of the Patrol, said Dick was returning from Hobart at the time of the accident. He was born July 28, 1889 at Florence Alabam to I.E. and Nancy Jane Barker Davis. He came with his parents in a covered wagon to Indian Territory in 1900 locating near Snyder. As a young man he attended Oklahoma State University and later taught school in Durham and Sweetwater communities. He volunteered and served in France in World War I. In 1920, he was married to Callie Clark who preceded him in death in 1951. To this union two children were born, Juanita Marie and Guy Clark. In 1954 he was married to Strausa Marie Hickman. Guy's full and useful life was an example to many. He was very active in church and civic affairs for over 50 years having been most active in the church of Christ, past post commander and Finance officer for the American Legion of Cheyenne; Service Orricer for 30 years for the American Red Cross of Roger Mills County, Rural Mail Carrier for 40 years. He was a Mason, member of the Eastern Star and White Shrine. He is survived by his wife, Strausa, of the home, Mrs. Albert B. Cochran (Juanita) of Rayville, Louisiana, and Dr. Guy Clark Davis of Atlanta, Georgia. His two brothers Clifford C. and Fred of New Mexico and a sister, Ruby Davis Thomson, Austin, Texas. He had seven grandchildren, Alan, Christina and Julie Cochran, Steve, Gary, Linda, and Kevin Davis. Virgil is the son John Wesley and Ida Ideal Conrad. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Ross, James, Chester, and Orville. The Conrad family moved from Illinois to Rankin, oklahoma with all ten children arriving here november 1905, where his father had homesteaded. He has spent his entire life in the community, was converted and joined the Methodist Church when eh was a boy and has lived a Christian life since. He was married to Edith Astell Reynolds at Sweetwater, Oklahoma, January 23, 1921. To this union were born two daughters, Verna (Mrs. Leon Marriott) and Shirley (Mrs. A.J. Alexander). Virgil began carrying the Rural Route Number 3 out of Rankin in November, 1919. His father was a rural carrier. Then his oldest brother, Orville, became a carrier when his father became too ill. Virgil came from a Christian home where all attended church together. He was choir director for the last decade. He worked for the be6tterment of his home, church, school, town, county, state, and nation. He has been a member of the National Letter Carriers Association since it began. He is also a member of the Masonic Lodge. In the church he has held all offices from Superintendent, Lay Leader, Methodist Men, Adult Teacher, Trustee, Steward, and Lay Speaker, and always performed with diginity and promptness. He loved his home and family, always showing affection gentleness to loved ones, even to the third generation on his route. He is survived by his wife, Edith, and his daughters, Verna A. Marriott, of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Shirley M. Alexander, of Tenafly, New Jersey, and six grandchildren Jane and Gregory Marriott, Cathy Alexander Parks, Saren, John, and Ellen Jo Alexander. He also leaaves three sisters, Mrs. Daisy Hines, Mrsx. Rosie Finch of Merced, California, and Mrs. Orpha Goehring, of Wichita, Kansas. Two bothers Ulva E. Conrad, of Fort Woth, Texas, and John W. Conrad, of Midwest City, Oklahoma, and many nieces and nephews and cousins with a host of friends to mourn his passing. Virgil leaves behing "footprints on the sands of time" as a Christina example for his beloved family and for all his many friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. B.J. Dunham, of Okmulgee, former pastor of Reydon, in the community building on Saturday 2:30 p.m. February 3, 1968 with Masonic Grave-Side Services, given by John R. Petersen. Funeral services were held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Scroggins Chapel, Cheyenne, with Rev. William Chace officiating. Born September 8, 1880 at Neosho, Missouri, Mrs. Combs was married August 25, 1902 to Charles Marion Combs at Shirley, Oklahoma. They moved to Cheyenne in 1920 from Leedey. She has been a member of the Methodist Church since 1922. Her husband preceded her in death. Survivors include: Mrs. Faye Cross and Mrs. Iva Armstrong, both of Cheyenne; Mrs. Joyce Mogg, Oklahoma City; Charles Cross, Oceanside, California; Carl Cross of Los Angeles, California; nine grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Pall bearers were Fred Cordell, Billy Chalfant, Son Williams, Donovan Wesner, James Mogg, Walter Pasby.
