He departed this life in Cheyenne, Oklahoma, May 21, 1958. He was married to Clara Belle Bates in 1894 in Illinois. She preceded him in death in 1924. Later he married Eva Strickland of Durham who preceded him in death in 1953. He is survived by two sons, Forrest and Gayle of Reydon, Oklahoma and three daughters: Juanita Hunt, Sayre, Oklahoma; Roann Wilson, Crawford, Oklahoma; and Evely Mabry of Big Springs, Texas; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. One grandson and three sons preceded him in death. Orville was killed in action in France during World War I, Sylvan and Winfred died in infancy. He came to Weatherford, Oklahoma in 1900; later he homesteaded in Roger Mills county near old Rankin, where he lived until he retired from farming in 1932. Later he moved to Cheyenne where he made his home until his death. Interment in White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, Ok

She had been a member of the Methodist Church since childhood. She was united in marriage to Jesse Eakins, February 14, 1900, at Cheyenne, Oklahoma, and they filed on a homestead between Hammon and Strong City. They worked side by side to hlep in the development of his new state, Oklahoma. To this union three children were born, Illie, Bernard and Sam. They moved to Elida, New Mexico in 1932 where she resided until a few months ago. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, one sister, her husband, Jesse, and one son, Sam. She is survived by one daughter, Lillie Barton, Crawford, one son, Bernard, Crawford, two grandsons and two great grandsons, and a host of other friends and relatives. Rev. A.L. Martin of Crawford preached the funeral sermon in the Baptist church of Cheyenne, Friday afternoon, February 27, 1959 in the presence of a large crowd of relatives and friends. Glayds Ninetta Doty was the daughter of the late Vernon and Eva Reynolds, and was born January 11, 1896 in River Falls, Wisonsin. She departed this life on Monday May 16, 1960 after several months of illness, at the age of 64 years, four months and five days. At the age of 12 years she moved with her parents to Edmond, Oklahoma and in 1914 the family moved to Rankin, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to Charles A. Doty, June 9, 1917 at Oklahoma City. To this union two children were born, Vernon E. Doty of Herlong, California and Naomi J. Smith of Langon, Germany. Her parents and one brother preceded her in death. She leaves her husband, Charles A. Doty of the home address; her two children, Vernon and Naomi; three grandchildren, Vernon and Vicki Smith and Janice Doty; two sisters and three brothers, Edith Conraad and L.L. (Chuck) Reynolds of Reydon, Alberta Beierschmitt of Elk City, Marion and Marvin Reynolds of Liberal, Missouri and a host of other relatives and friendss. She was a loving and devoted mother and wife, and alway thought of other first. In sickeness or newed she was ever there and ready to help. She was loved by all who knew her. She was a member of the Christian Church. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Elea clay of Reydon, five grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. J.T. Cliffod of Pleasant Hill, Mirrousi; one brother, Luther Funston of Canyon, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends. Her husband, three sisters and two brothers preceded her in death. Funeral services were conducted Sunday July 31, 1060 at the Community Building in Reydon with Rev. Lynn Heard, former Baptist pastor, officiaating. Hill in Zenia, Illinois, and departed this life at Oklahoma City on June 30, 1959, at the age of 61 yeaars, 3 months and 18 days. She moved with her parents to Strong City, Oklahoma 48 years ago, grew to womanhood and wa united in marriage to William A. Cofer on December 24, 1916. To this union were born four children: Glen, who preceded her in death in 1931. Charles Orval Cofer, Midwest City, Oklahoma, Winifred Mabra, Midwest City, Oklahoma, and Louise Lee, with whome she made her home in Del City, Oklahoma. She was converted at the age of eighteen and united with the Baptist church at Strong City. She remained loyal to her church and lived a true and dedicated Christian life. Her husband preceded her in death on January 17, 1954. It was at this time she moved to Del City and made her home with her daughter. Besides her children she leaes to mour her passing one sister, Mrs. Naomi Potter, Clinton, Oklahoma and one brother, Roy Hill, Huntington Park, California, eight grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and lived the kind of life that made her life an inspiration to all who kenw her. Through many weeks of suffering she exhibited her Christian faith and love for her Lord, His Grace was sufficient. There is great comfort in knowing that One who knows best of all things, directs the detinies of manking. We know that all things work for the good of those who love the Lord. To this union were born seven children, five sons and two daughters, Roy Eugene who died at birth, Leo Cockrell of Alamorgorda, New Mexico, Dale Cockrell of Cheyenne, Mrs. Hershel Higgins of Amarillo, Texas, Mr. Donald Cockrell of Wichita, Kansas, Mrs. Glen Cockrell of the home address, and Mrs. Wanda Estes of Amarillo, Texas. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Sandra, Judy and Ricky Higgins, Dennis and Craig Cockrell and Gary Cockrell. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, two brothers and one sister. Chowning pioneer of the Durham community who died Octboer 28, 1958 in Oklahoma City, were held Friday afternoon in the Durham auditorium with the Rev. Gerald Main of Cheyenne officiaitng. Born February 26, 1881 in Celina, Tenn., he was married on August 2, 1902 to Alma Esther Hughes at Chaandler. He moved to Durham in 1919 from Davenport, Oklahoma and resided in that community until 1943. Survivors are one son, Ernes of Oakland, California, four daughters, Mrs. Faye Wilson of Longview, Texas, Mrs. Mary Nickell of Alvaa, Mrs. Martha mitchell of Seminole and Mrs. Fern Minerosa of Oneonta, New York, two brothers, four sisters and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife. Committal was in the Fairview cemetery, Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Scroggins funeral home in charge. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK

Douglas, at the age of 70 years, 4 months and 28 days. She was united in marriage to Karl Herzberg at Clay County, Kansas in 1887 and moved to Oklahoma in 1901 where they homesteaded near old Hamburg northeast of Reydon. To this union three children were born. Mr. Herzberg preceded her in death January 1, 1929. On November 16, 1932 she was united in marriage to William Crandall Chatfield. They made their home in the Reydon community where he passed away August 22, 1950. Mrs. Chatfield had been a semi-invalid since December 9, 1932 and was bedfast for the last two years. She was loved by all who knew her and was laways busy with her hands, sewing. She had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Ira Douglas of Sapulpa since October 1953. She leaves to mourn her passing, two daughters, Mrs. Violet Townsley of Lowell, Arkansas and Mrs. Florence Douglas of Sapulpa; one son, Floyd R. Herzbert of Lexington, North Carolina; two stepsons, Walter J. Chatfield of Morrison, Colorado and Richard Chatfield of St. Louis, Missouri; one stepdaughter of Kirksville, Missouri; four sisters, Mrs. Laura Erickson of Clay Center, Kansas; Mrs. Lizzy Davis of Manhattan, Kansas, Mrs. Christine Johnson and Mrs. Hilma Fee of Colorado Springs; one brother, Victor Granell of Clay Center, Kansas; seventeen grandc hildren, thirty great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Reydon community building, January 5, 1960 with Johnnie Freeman, pastor off the Church of Christ officiating. Interment was in the White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
