J.R. Simmons officiating. Born October 1, 1889 at Decatur, Texas. Mr. McEntire came to western Oklahoma with his parents when a small boy and settled near Foss. Later he moved to his present home in the Grimes community. He was married to Monnie Satterfield at Cordell in 1916. He was converted and joined the Baptist church when a young man. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Nobles, Erick and Miss Lola McEntire, Sayre; five brothers, Audrey of Retrop, Ford of Grimes, Frank of Oklahoma City and Albert and Garvill of Sayre. Wehard, minister, officiating. Born February 5, 1898 in Denton, she came to western Oklahoma in 1900 with her parents, and settled at Willow, Oklahoma, later moving to Elk City. In 1928 the family moved to the Dempsey community where she was a resident. She was married to Tom McEntire April 5, 1917, at Cordell. She was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses. Her parents and three brothers preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, Tom J. of the home at Grimes, two sisters, Mrs. Emma Smith, Memphis, Texas and Mrs. Leslie Moore, Clinton. Pall bearers were Elzie McEntire, O.C. Nobles, Marvin Satterfrield, Huston McEntire, Larue McEntire and Olen McEntire. Rev. Laddie Adams, pastor of the church preached the sermong. Committal was in the Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Mrs. McDaniel and her husband Riley McDaniel lived in and near Cheyenne until a few years after his death. During this time they were engaged in the cafe and in the grocery business in this city. Mrs. McDaniel was an active worker for her church, teaching a class in Sunday school as long as she was able to do so. Friends remember that it was her Sunday morning custom to go to the homes of the children of her Sunday school class, and bring them to Sunday school. If, perchance, ther were any whose parents were unable to clothe them, Vina saw that they had clothes, too. Her life was a testimony to the faith she believed and lived. Survivors include her son, Eddie Lee McDaniel, Cheyenne, two daughters, Mrs. Ernest Taylor, Viola, of Lefors, Texas, and Mrs. Gerald Glenn, Maxine, of Compton, California; her father G.C. Kirby of Junction City, Kansas, a brother and several sisters, 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Her brother, Elton Kirby and family and her twin sister, Viola Leary were present for the funeral services. He was educated in the school of his county and at Gladen Academy. His severn brothers and three sisters have preceded him in dath. He was preceded him in death. He was the last of his immediate family. He moved to Earlville, Illinois, in 1890. On August 21, 1895, he was married to Miss Bessie Simison. He and his wife taught school while attending Wesleyan University at Bloomington, Ill. They moved to Oklahoma in 1901, teaching one year near Deer Creek. He and his wife pioneered the Rideton post office system. The McColgins and their three younger children moved from Reydon to Stillwater in 1934 so the children could attend college. The couple celebraated their 64th wedding anniversity on August 21, 1959. Mr. McColgin died Tuesday, October 20, 1959 in their home, 104 S. Melrosre, Stillwater, Oklahoma. Services were held in the First Methodist Church in Stillwater on Thursday, October 22, 1959 at 9 a.m. with Rev. Irving Smith officiating. Mr. McColgin was 89 years, 8 months and 15 days old at the time of his passing. A second service was held at Reydon at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Henry A. Morton, Rev. Carl Shelton and Rev. Charles Carpenter officiating. Honorary bearers were members of the Brotherhood of the Methodist church. Active bearers were grandsons. Donald Wayne and James Dan Burns, William Grant and Sterling Wayne McColgin, Eugene Burns and a friend Winston Gene Shindell at the Stillwater service. At the Reydon service Quentin Phillip McColgin Jr. and friend Kenneth Lee King were also bearers. Of their ten children, nine are living. They are Mrs. Hope Conrad, Sterling S. McColgin, Wayne R. McColgin, Quentin P. McColgin and Mrs. Mary E. Burns, all of Reydon; G. Willis McColgin of Kansas City, Kansas; Mrs. Ruth Wall of Billings, Oklahoma; Mrs. F. Octavia De Berry of Great Bend, Kansas; and Franklin McColgin of Long Island, N.Y. All of these attended the services; other relatives from a distance included Mrs. G. Willis McColgin, Homer De Berry, Mrs. June, Conrad, Elk City; and Mrs. Darla Womastek and Darla Jean of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Mr. McColgin was a member of the First Methodist church, the Methodist Brotherhood, Farmers Union, oklahoma Historical Soceity and was an honorary member of the W.C.T.U. LUCAS CHILD DIES FROM BURNS Carol Earlene, 3 1/2 years old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ike Lucas of Crawford died Sunday June 5, 1960 from burns suffered on May 19, 1960 when butane fumes ignited in a storm cellar where the family had gone for refuge from an approaching storm. The father and mother were both severly burned and are still hospitlized. A two months old baby, the other member of the family, was wrapped in a blanket and had only slight burns. She departed this life September 16, 1959, at the age of 55 years, 4 months and 18 days after an illness of 6 months. She was the second of nine children. She received her graade school education at Five Star school and attended the Strong City High School. She made a decision for Christ as her personal Saviour and united with the Methodist church while attending school at Strong City. She was united in marriage to J.T. Lacey of Strong City on February 17, 1924. To this union two children were born, Nina and Stoney. J.T. preceded her in death on January 30, 1937, leaving her with the responsibility of providing for and educating two growing children. She did this to the best of her aability without question giving them the love from a mother's heart. On December 18, 1942, she was united in marriage to W.O. (Bill) Hill and they established a home in Gainesville, Texas where they resided until her illness required her bing moved to Cheyenne hospitaal. Nona is survived by her husband, Bill, of Gainesville, her mother, Lida Leddy of Strong City, her daughter, Nina Payne of Cheyenne, her son, Stoney Lacey of Custer City, three sisters Mrs. Vida Archer of Sayre, Mrs. Scenith Walker and Mrs. Minnie Hillman of Strong City, five brothers, Ollie of Sayre, Loyd of pampa, Texas, Hosea, A.T. and Raymond of Strong City, granddaughters, Sparla and Charlene Lacey, one grandson, Ronnie Payne, her son-in-law, Virgil Payne, her daughter-in-law Joyce Lacey and a host of other relatives and friends. She accepted her illness and coming death with the dignity and humility of a Christian never asking why. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. A.L. Martin of Crawford and Rev. Paul Jones of Cheyenne in the Methodist church of Cheyenne in the presence of a large crowd of friends and relatives. At boyhood he moved with his parents to Fort Worth, Texas for a short while, returning to Strong City where he was united in marriage to Hazel Bessie Allen on April 27, 1923. To this union one son was born, Steele James Kimzey of Strong City. Mr. Kimzey made his home in Strong City until 1942, when he served with the United States Army at camp Chaffee, Arkansas. Following discharge from the Armed Forces he moved to California for 2 1/2 years, returning to Strong City where he resided. His mother, father, and an infant brother preceded him in death. Those left to mourn Porter's departure are one son, Steele Kimzey and family of Strong City, Hazel B. Kimzey of Elk Grove, California, one brother, Jim Colburn of Cheyenne, three nieces, 2 nephews, 3 cousins and a host of friends. Born May 21, 1890 at Lexington, Texas, he came to Oklahoma in 1900 and settled at Olustee, Oklahoma, later moving to Canute, where he resided until 1929 when he moved to his present home in the Berlin community. A member of the American Legion and the DAV, he served 3 years in the U.S. Army in World War I. His father, one sister and one brother preceded him in death. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Elsie Kenner of the home address, one daughter, Mrs. Octana Davis, Chickasha; two sons, Conard of Clovis, New Mexico and Clifford of Cheyenne; four grandchildren, his mother, Mrs. Mattie Kenner, Elk City; three sisters, Mrs. Ray Schooler, Mrs. Annie powell of Elk City and Mrs. Maggie Teague, Wells, Colorado; three brothers, Marshall and Sike of Elk City, and Sam of Borger, Texas. To this union two children were born, Lela June and Betty Jo. He was stricken by illness in May, 1957 from which he never fully recovered. He was a loving father, a devoted husband and an understanding friend. Keller, pioneer farmer of the Durham community, were held Tuesday afternoon in the community building there. Rev. Sanford Cole of Canadian, Texas and Rev. W. S. Little of Reydon had charge of the services. Committal was in the Fairview cemetery, Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under direction of Scroggins. Mr. Keller died March 27, 1959. He was born March 17, 1878 in Denton, Texas. He came to Oklahoma in 1892 and resided in the Durham community since he homesteaded about 1900. He had been engaged in farming all of his life. He had been a member of the Methodist church for many years. On November 25, 1901 he was married to Nannie Wylie in Dallas, Texas. To this union seven children were born, who with the wife and mother, survive and all were present for the services. They are Winnie Estes, Oklahoma city; Vernona Cole, Canadian, Texas; Virginia Montgomery, Durham; Sarah Newton, Canadian, Texas; Ruby Montgomery, Meridian, California; Jeanne Baker, Beaver; and Perry Keller of amarillo, Texas. Two sisters, Opal White of Edmonds, Washington and Flossie Mangold, Pampa, Texas survive. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
