He joined the Methodist Church of Berlin, Oklahoma in 1928 . He lived a quiet and useful life using honesty and respect for his fellow man and God for guidance through life. All his effords were made with the thought of caring and helping his family, and took great pride in serving as A.S.C. County Committeeman for 19 years. He liked the great outdoors and loved to fish and hunt in his spare time. He leaves to mourn, two sons and their wives - Avery and Alving and Edna of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, Baker Bryant and Rama of Clinton, Oklahoma; Five grandchildren, Avery Alvin, Jr., Rex Anthony, Baker Ray, Cynthia Louise, and Gay Laray; Father and stepmother, Clark and Etta, Klutts Stratford, Oklahoma and Corene Klutts, of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Dewey and Wilburn of Stratford, Oklahoma, and a host of nephews and nieces. He moved with his parents, a sister and two brothers from Missouri to Roger Mills County, Oklahoma in 1903 on a farm near Cheyenne, Oklahoma. He departed this life at the Sayre hospital Thursday, October 28, 1965 following surgery and an illness of several months. On Februaary 8, 1912, he was united in marriage to Minnie Nellie Batchelor at Cheyenne, Oklahoma to this union one son Anglo Victor and one daughter Gladys Virginia were born. He was one of Roger mIlls early day school teachers, for a number of years. Later with his family resided in Sayre, Oklahoma and was a salesman for the Sayre Wholesale Company. Then moving to Kansas, Texas and Portales, New Mexico in 1935 to Tempe, Arizona, resided there many years. He moved back to Reydon this years, 1965. He was a member of the Church of Christ. His wife, son and daughter and parents preceded him in death. At 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 1, 1965 funeral services were conducted at the Church of Christ in Cheyenne, Oklahoma.' Minister officiating were Leland Burch assisting was his grandson Albert Victor Dare. Survivors are his grandchildren Albert Victor Daare and wife Alice Carolyn of Greenville, South Carolina, Mae Nell Ehrhardt and husband Keith Robert, Dwaine Dare, Great grandchildren are Keith Norman Jr., Ricky Dean Ehrhardt, daughter in law Pearl Dare all of Tempe, Arizona, one sister Laura King, Reydon, Oklahoma, two brothers, Alford E. At the age of 6 years, his family moved to Carney, Oklahoma. Then in 1908, they moved to western Oklahoma, northwest of Cheyenne. Here Clifford married Miss Gertrude Miller from Burbank, Oklahoma. To this union was born one daughter, Pauline, in 1916. They farmed and ranched on the Washita River, northwest of Cheyenne until July of 1959, when they moved to Cheyenne where they were living at the time of his passing. "Cliff" as he was known by his many friends, was very successful as a farmer and a rancher, but most of all, Cliff was known for his fiddling which pelased the ears of young and old at the many old-time gatherings. The finer touch of the fiddle seemed to be his greatest inspiration. Preceding Cliff in death was his mother and father, one sister, Hattie and four borthers, Harry, Odis, Roy and Edd. Left to mourn his death is his wife of the home, one brother, Allen of Beverly Hills, California, one daughter, Mrs. Woodrow Smith of portales, New Mexico, seven grandchildren, Gary Smith of Emmett, Idaho, Gailya Thomas of Wichita, Kansas, Monty Smith of Amarillo, Texas, and Jimmie, Paulette, Mike and Linda, all of Portales, New Mexico, nine great grandchildren, and a multitude of friends.
