She and the late Hubert Hutches lived in Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma for a number of years. They moved to California approzimately 1940. Ossie and Vic sold their home in North Hollywood about 5 years ago and built a home in the mountains at Campo. When Worth was 20 he left Texas and moved to Oklahoma. Soon after this he was taken into the service of his country in World War I where he spent two and a half years in the United States Navy, as a fireman First Class. After discharge from the service he was one of the first veterans in his locality to become a member of the American Legion, but in later years became a member of the Veterans Foreighn Wars. In December of 1919 Worth was united in marriage to Bertha Guernsey and the Smalls have two sons, J.E. of Cortez, Colorado and Joe of Nashville, Tennessee. Sometime in 1948 they moved to the Cortez community to live where Mr. Small engage in farming and ranching. For several years he was associated with Boyde Gai in his farming operations. In 1960 he retired from the farm. He united with the First Baptist Church of Strong City, Oklahoma, September 19, 1938, and soon after moving to Cortez, he united with the First Baptist Church there. He was an active member since that time. he last few years Mr. Small has been in ill health which much of the time hindered his regular attendance however, he was a faithful listener to moring services as they were broadcast over the local station. Worth passed away very suddenly Sunday afternoon March 9, 1969. He leaves his wife Bertha of Cortez, a son J.E. Small of Cortez and another son Joe of Nashville as well as six grandchildren. Two sisters and five brothers preceded Worth in death but he has yet one living brother, Ralph of Bushey, Montana and two sisters, Mrs. Hester Holmes, of Shamrock, Texas, and Mrs. Vera Johnson of Ft. Payne, Ala. Worth made friends easily and alway appreciated them. He was fond of his home and often in recent years expressed deep sincere love and appreciation for his wife. Immediate survivors include her husband, Otis Permenter, a daughter Beatrice Dicker both of Albuquerque, New Mexico, a son Paul Wesley Foster, of Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Also surviving are three sisters, Klina Casady, Cheyenne, Oklahoma; her twin, Lily Noblitt, Pampa, Texas; and Helen Mumford, Albuquerque; and a brother, Haskell Potter of Mesquite, Texas. Ruby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Potter, grew to womanhood in the Durham community off Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. After completing grade school there she attended high school in Drumright. Later she attended Oklahoma College for Women and Southwestern State College. She taught in rural schools of Roger Mills County. She separted this life January 13, 1968 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma, where she had lived with her husband, Price, for the past nine years. In her youth, Margie was baptised into the Christian faith in the Church of the Brethren near Cordell. For the past nine years she has been a member of the First Methodist Church in Cheyenne, where she remained loyal to the Christian vows she made in her youth. She was married to Price Howell May 26, 1923. They farmed near Cordell until 1949, when Price became associated with Public Service Company of Oklahoma. In 1950 they moved to Carnegie where they lived until 1959 when they moved to Cheyenne, where they resided until her death. In death Margie leaves a memorial of love, patience, and understanding few people ever attain, and those who knew her will never forget. She left this memorial to her husband, Price, her son, Harold, Cordell, her daughter, Mrs. Retha Howard of Ulysses, Kansas, to her five grandchildren, Linda and Lynn Dale Howell, Cordell and Larry, Vickie and Cheryl Howard, Ulysses, Kansas, her seven sisters Mrs. Lillie Hamit, Oklahoma City, Mrs Ina Shreiner, Nampa, Ida., Mrs. Sarah Brubaker, Denver, Miss Lula Brubaker, Oklahoma City, Mrs. Viola Best, Cordxell, Mrs. Esther Heathcoat, Weatherford, and Mrs. Ruth Quine, Cordell, and one brother, Gilbert, Los Banos, California, and this same memorial she has left to many friends who knew and loved her. Ware, pastor of the Methodist church at Reydon was found dead Monday, August 2, 1965. His wife and two children had been away for the weekend. Rev. Ware conducted church services as usual Sunday. Monday when his wife returned home the house was locked and she was unalbe to enter. She summoned a neighbor, Orville Conrad and together they opened the door. Rev. Ware was lying on the bed. According to the physician who was called he had been dead several hours. He is survived by his wife, a daughtger, Debra 12, and a son C.W. Jr. 10. Taylor 63, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Presbyterian church in Elk City. John I. Taylor waas the first president of the Oklahoma Farm Bureau and served in that capacity 12 years. He resigned at the time of the death of his father, J. Luther Taylor in 1957, to devote his time to the administration of the estate. Later he was assistant director of legislation for the National Farm Bureau in Washington, D.C. He operated a ranch at Mountain View where he resided for a number of years. Later he moved to Elk City. For the past few years he had resided in Oklahoma City where he was manager of the Nichols Feed and Fertilizer Company. He was a 32nd degree mason and for years was captain of an outstanding Scottish Rites drill team of Elk City. He was a member of the Presbyterian church. Survivors include, the wife of Oklahoma City, two sons, Jim of Berlin in Roger Mills County, Joe of Mountain View, seven grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Jene Newman of Houston, Texas and Mrs. Ed Hayhow of Hillsdale, Michigan. While in Roosevelt she owned and operated a Hat Shop and in Chickasha they owned and operated restaurants in the down town area until retirement in 1957. She was a member of the Epworth Methodist church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Christine Leonard of Mustang, Mrs. Zoe Askew of oklahoma City and Mrs. Evelyn Hilderbrant of National City, California, Three sisters, Mrs. Helen Harlan of San Diego, California, Mrs. Ruth Bourdon of Baldwin Park, California, and Mrs. Alice Kroeger of Cody, Nebraska; a brother, David D. Work of Gunnison, Colorado, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, April 3, 1967 at 2 p.m. in Chickasha with Rev. J.C. Curry Jr. officiating, assisted by Rev. Mrs. Savage was a graaduate of Sullins Junior College for Girls, Bristol, Virginia, and earned a BS Degree from Oklahoma A&M, Stillwater, Oklahoma. She did graduate studies in Social Work at the University of Denver, Denver, Colorado. Mrs. Savage combined her role as a homemaker and professional woman for most of her adult life. She held various management positions and after several years reitired from the Department of Human Services in 1981 as a juvenile court worker. Mrs. Savage was very active in the support of mental health program for Pontotoc County and served on its board. She was a member of the First United Methodist church and Fellowship Sunday School Class. Fort-Nightly Study Club, Bible Study Club and many other civic organizations over the years. Mrs. Savage also served as a member of the fact-finding committee for the establishment of an adult day-care facility for Ada. She with others of the committee visited other parts of the state to guide in the establishment of Ada's first center. Mrs. Savage was a long time advocate of troubled and neglected youth. She was instrumental in the formation of the Ada Youth Shelter, now located in the Social Services complex. Mrs. Savage served two terms as President of the Ada Area Council on Drugs and Alcohol. Her hobbies included bridge, handwriting analysis, growing roses and African violets, painting, raising exotic fish and Yorkshire terriors. Mrs. Savage was born October 15, 1920, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to James Nash and Elizabeth Pyle Byrd. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dr. Nash Byrd. She is survived by her husband Ted Savage of the home, daughters, Stephanie Jacobson and husband, Frank, Scottsdale, AZ, Dr. Kathy Savage and husband Dr. Bob Suddith, Wilmington, NC, and Jamie Leach and husband Clude, Ada, OK; two sisters-in-law, Lorena Males and Glena Belle Crane of Cheyenne, OK; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Turner Ave., a retired carpenter, were held Friday, Feburary 28, at 1 p.m. in the John N. Lisle Chapel. Interment will be in the Fresno Memorial Gardens. Prestridge died Sunday in his home after an illness of a year. A native of Granbury, Texas, he had lived in Fresno County 22 years. He retired 12 years ago. He was a member of the Carpenters Union. Surviving are his widow, Cynthia; four sons, Herbert J., Homer L., John Leroy, and George H. Prestridge, all of Fresno, three daughters, Mrs. Lois Miller of Fresno and Mrs. Lola Mae Gardner and Mrs. Lillie Rhea Burton, both of New Mexico; two brothers, Uburn of Oklahoma and Arron of New Mexico; two sisters, Mrs. Minerva Agee and Mrs. Margaret George, both of Oklahoma; 23 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
