He went to school in Reydon, Oklahoma. He and Dean lived in Pampa and Lefors before moving to Follett, where they have lived for 31 years. He worked to Transwestern Oil Company for 20 years. A member of National Rifle Association. Don was an avid hunter and reader. He was living at Twin Oaks Manor in Booker at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, James and Dale. Survivors include his wife and mother, a daughter, Margaret Robinson of Weatherford, Oklahoma; two sons, Orville and wife Teresa of Follett, Texas and Clayton and wife Ellen of Ponchatoula, Lousiana; and sister Evelyn Porter and husband J.T. of Reydon, Oklahoma. She moved with her parents, while a young girl, to the state of Texas and grew to womanhood near Greeville, Texas. She was united in marriage to John W. Quattlebaum on September 3, 1889. They later moved to Oklahoma where she resided the rest of her life. To this union seven children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband and two children: a son, Erve Quattlebaum and a daughter, Ella Parker. The following survive to mourn her passing. Three sons, John Wade of Porterville, California; Elzie of Sunray, Texas and Elmo of Strong City, Oklahoma. Two daughters: Mrs. Magtgie Parker, Sunray, Texas; Mrs Blanche Cantrell, Moorewood, Oklahoma; also two step-children, 21 grandchildren and 53 great grandchildren. She was converted at the age of 30 and united with the Baptist Church of Orin, Texas. The funeral and burial in Odessa was February 18, 2002. The son of the late Eual Parker and Ethel Smith Parker Nance, he also was the grandson and great grandson of Oklahoma pioneers. He was a retired oil exploration specialist and business man. In 1959, he went to Libya as a drilling supervisor and later also worked in Nigeria for the Gulf Oil Corp. When he returned to the United States in 1966, he lived for a time in Monahans, Texas, before settling in Odessa where he owned or was a partner in several ventures, and became widely known as a firefighting speciallist with his own business. He also worked as a drilling and production consultant for several other companies and formed a partnership that built trailer-mounted oilfield pipe inspection machines. He is survived by a son, Nolan Eual Parker, of Lindale, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Jean Slade of Tyler, Texas, and Mrs. Lee Polette Perkins of Midland, Texas, and three grandchildren. They established their first home at Mooreood where they lived until 1974 when they moved to the Oklahoma City area. She was a member of the Soldier Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing and hummingbirds. He became a Christian in 1907 and together they promoted community and church activities. Mrs. Mills was deacon at the Reydon Baptist church for nearly 20 years. He was a men who loved his neighbors and promoted many progressive ideas. They moved to Edmond in 1948 and lived there until his death. They were en route to Amarillo from their home in Elk City and were towing a station wagon when they collided with another car. One occupant of the other car, a woman, was also killed instantly and the other occupant, a man, died later. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson were each 45 years of age and are survived by one daughter, in addition to numerous other relatives, Mrs. Johnson was a sister to Robert Cogburn and Mrs. M.C. She died on March 13, 2002 following a long illness. Betty was 70 years of age at her time of passing. Betty spent her early years south of Eureka Community. She attended the Eureka School before marrying Dickey Henderson on February 24, 1948 at Taloga, Oklahoma, at the age of 16. They moved to Leedey where she finished her schooling. Three sons were born to their marriage, Richard, David, and Larry. The family lived in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Albuquerque, New Mexico, where Rickey and David were born, and Okinawa, Japan, where Larry was born. They then returned to the states and lived in New York for two years. Betty and her boys then moved to Leedey and lived with family while Dick found a place in Germany so they could join him. After returning from Germany they moved to Ft. Lewis, Washington and remained there until Dicks death in 1966. Betty then returned to Leedey and remained there until 1974 when she moved to Clinton, Oklahoma where she lived until her passing. Betty enjoyed plaaying cards with friends, reading, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with family and her grandchildren. Betty was baptized at a young age and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Leedey. She was preceded in death by her husband Dickey Henderson, her parents Elbert and Ruby Haney, her brothers Frank and Paul Haney and one sister Oleta Kauk. She is survived by her boys, Richard Henderson of Shamrock, Texas, David Henderson of Clinton, Oklahoma, Larry Henderson and wife Deann of Greenville, Michigan; two sisters, Ovada Kauk of Butler, Oklahoma, and Jolene Grant of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; one brother Leon Haney of Leedey, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren: Dickey, David, Amber, Maxlynn, Cory, Kimerly and Robert Henderson. Laura Mathes in 1949 Elk City Paper, (it appears)....The Book was finally finished in 1994 and the lady who authored it left all the pictures with our historical group - alas, this is the last one of the pictures ..... I hope you are not disappointed thinking this is a relative, because I am not. I do a lot of lookups for people with queries here in our Roger Mills County, and if you need something additional, please ask. Their birth and death dates and places are listed on back of the picture and I guess there is an article about them in our history book. I can send all of these to you - no problem. She was born in Texas on March 27, 1887. She came to the farm near Bessie, Oklahoma when she was very young. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Rogers, passed away when she was a small girl. She was reared by her step-mother, Mrs. Ella Allen of Moore, Oklahoma who survives. In 1902 she was married to James T. Creswell at Bessie, Oklahoma. They were the parents of 6 children which they reared in this part of Oklahoma. They lived in Elk City for many years. Mr. Creswell was killed in a car wreck in 1936. Their son Haskell was killed in an airplane craash in 1944, while serving with the aremd forces in World War II. She and Harry Garver were united in marriage at Wheeler, Texas in December 1946. They were living happily at their home at 620 West 5th in Elk City when she passed away. She was a member of the Baptist church for 44 years, also a Gold Star Mother of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a faithful wife and a kind and loving mother. She has many friends whom she loved dearly. Besides her husband she is survived by her children, Mrs. Beulah Kent, Sayre, Oklahoma, Mrs Blanche Kilpatrick, Elk City, Oklahoma, Mrs. Leon Jones, Chandler, Oklahoma, Floyd Creswell, Brubank, California and Doyle of Elk City. Her six grandchildren are Mrs. June Minor, Dean and Blanche Kent, Jimmie and Dora Creswell, Larry Jones. The three great grandchildren are Edwina, Rodney and Kelly Minor. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
