Aikins was born September 4, 1942 in Shaw, Kansas to Nellie Mae and Oliver Carl Aikins and passed away January 3, 1999 in the Jackson County Memorial Hospital of Altus, Oklahoma at the age of 56 years, 3 months and 29 days. Donnie graduated from Chanute High School and later joined the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he worked in a machine shop and lived in Enid, Oklahoma. He moved to Katy, Texas in 1972 and began working as a carpenter. He remained there until the early 1990's when he moved to Needville, Texas. In 1995, he moved north of Sayre, Oklahoma where he and Kay Patton owned and operated the D & K Corner Store. Donnie and Kay were married on April 26, 1998 in Wheeler, Texas and they continued to make their home north of Sayre. He intended the Cheyenne First Baptist Church. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, 1999 att the Rose Chapel officiated by Terrell Romberg. A second memorial was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 1999 in the Johnson Mortary Chapel, Channute, KS. Interment followed in the Shaw Cemetery. Graveside services will be at approzimately 2:30 p.m. in the Clinton cemetery, Clinton, Custer County, Oklahoma. Mrs. Agee is the daughter of a pioneer family in the Cheyenne area. She was born September 29, 1896 in Hood County, Texas and came as a small child to the Cheyenne area with her parents, Sarrah Elizabeth and George Taylor Prestridge. She still has one nephew living in Cheyenne, George Wallace Prestridge. Preceding her in death was her husband Daniel Cooper Agee who died July 25, 1969 in Clinton. The couple was married December 21, 1919 in Cheyenne. Also a daughter, Cora Bernice Womack, June 14, 1951, in Watonga. Two sisters and eight brothers. Survivors include on sister, Margaret George, Edmond; three daughters, Georgia Agee Rush, West Richland, Washington; Flora Margaret Agee and Johnnie Agee Owings, both of Bethany. Mr. and Mrs. Agee also raised a grandson, Steven Lynn Womakc, Oklahoma City. She is survived by four other grandchildren, Mrs. Jeannette Hasser, Canoga Park, California; Daniel C. Rush, Seattle, Washington; Benjamin L. Rush, Van Nuys, California; and George L. Rush, Summer Fortuna, California. Other survivors include eight great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren aand a number of nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Cheyenne High School and Draughons School of Business, Oklahoma City. Organizations to which she belonged: American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, Royal Neighbors and the Baptist Church. She was a piano teacher for many years. They lived in Wheeler County and Hemphill Counties until 1979, when they moved to Borger, Texas. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by one son, Ting Aderholt. Survivors include her husband, one, son, Ray Aderholt of Fritch, Texas; eight daughters, Doris Hays of Wheeler, Texas; Alovis Allen of Amarillo, Texas; Lois Johnston and Estelle Topper, both of Borger, Texas; Lavois Anderson of Miami, Texaas, Rita Grayson of Allison, Texas; Janell Grayson of Canadian, Texas and Armenda Jones of Tulia, Texas; s sister, Transie Williams of Ardmore, Oklahoma, 71 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and 70 great great grandchildren. Mr. Adams was born November 6, 1832. Mr. Adams came to this country at an early day from Johnson county, Texas, and settled on a claim near Brantley, Day County. He was a man of a very liberal disposition, and none who ever applied to him for help when in need were sent empty away. For the last few years he and his wife have made their home with their son Will at Brantley. On Wednesday 30th November, 1904, he drove to this city with his wife and daughter Fanny, on a visit to his daughter and son-law Mr. and Mrs. Fisher Pace of this city. For the last three weeks Mr. Adams has not been in good health, and last Saturday caught a severe chill. Dr. Low was called and did all that he could for him. But on Tuesday evening 6th December at 4 0'clock surrounded by hisd wife, family and friends, he passed away at the age of 72. On Wednesday his remains were taken to the cemetery near Texmo (Dewey cemetery at one time was called Texmo), to be buried the same day. Mr. Adams is survived by a wife, three sons, and four daughters, all of whome are married, except Will with whom Mrs. Adams will continue to make her home. She was employed by the State of California for thirty years. She was preceded in death by her parents. She passed from this life on October 14, 1989, in Baptist Hospital, Oklahoma City, at the age of seventy-five years. Leona attended the Aledo School near her home. She spent her childhood years on the family farm tow miles west of Aledo, and along with her parents, her sisters and brothers, endured the hardships as well as the many joys that were typicla of most families during the depression and the Dust Bowl Days. The Aledo School building also serv ed as a place of worship and also for many other community gaterings, during these early years. On November 26, 1932, Leona Addington and Clarence M. Adams were united in marriage at Arapaho, Oklahoma. The home was established in the Leedey area, and in this area Mr. and Mrs. Adams has resided during the fifty-seven years of their marriage, deeply interested in the development and the welfare of their community. Mrs. Adams enjoyed her role as a farm wife, help-mate, and home-maker, a dedicated wife and mother. She enjoyed as special hobbies: ceramics, quilting, and baking. Leona made her commitment of faith in the Saviour during the early years of her life, was baptised, and is a member of the Leedey First United Methodist Church. To her faith; she has remained true through the years. She was also a member of the Leedey Senior Citizens Organizations. Mrs. Adams was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, whose love and kindness has been an inspiration to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jay D. Addington, two sisters, Rosa Lee Martin and Viola Williams, an infant brother, James Addington, an infant grandson, and one daughter-in-law, Gerladine Adams. She is survived by her husband, Clarence M. Adams, of the home in Leedey, two sons, Vernon Lee and wife, Gwen of Moore, and Larry Marvin of Edmond, and one daughter, Quanah Cummins and husband, Leon of lindsey, niewn grandhildren; four sisters, Anna Mae Baumgartner of Lodi, California, Naomi Touchstone of Leedey, Pauline Williams of Kimble, Nebraska, and loretta Haney of Leedey; three brothers J. Scott Adams in Strong City and died Monday January 27, 1997 in his home following a battle with cancer. Dean started school in Strong City and Roll and moved to Clinton as a young boy. He worked for a number of years for the Clinton Daily News. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1954 and enlisted in the U.S. Army November 19, 1954. Following his honorable discharge in 1956, he married the former Miss Lois Maxine Shepherd on December 30, 1956. He had been employed by S.W. Bell, Lin Manfacturing Company and John Deere Tractor. He volunteered with Clinton Fire Department, became Captain and was promoted to Clinton Fire Chief. Dean retired in 1986 and moved to California for a short time. He returned to Clinton and was employed with Clinton Public Schools until the time of his death. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church, a loifetime member and past Commander of the Hobbs-Ogle Power American Legion Post, member of the Fire Association, Noon Lions and a past member of the Jaycees. He passed from this life on Monday evening November 10, 1997 at the Leedey Nursing Center. Mr. Adams had reached the age of 90 years and 24 days at the time of his death. Clarence grew into his manhood in the Eureka community. He began his school work in the Eureka School in 1914 attending those until 1922 at which time he completed one year at Leedey High School. Following his school work he continued working in his life chosen field of a "Hard Working Farmer" Clarence dearly enjoyed watching his farm produce from his many long hours of work. On November 26, 1932 Clarence was united in marriage to Leona Addington at Arapaho, Oklahoma they moved to a farm in the Eureka community livning there until 1975 when they built a new home and moved to Leedey. To this most happy union three children were born: Bernon Lee, Quanah Corene and Larry Marvin. Clarence enjoyed raising a garden and after moving into town still continued to raise a large garden. He enjoyed sharing the produce of the garden with his family and numerous friends. He also enjoyed spending time visiting with his many friends and held dear the times his family was all home to visit. Upon the death of his beloved wife Leona in 1989, Clarence continued to live in their home until 1994 when special nursing care was needed and he entered the Leedey Nursing Center to spend his final days. Mr. Adams was a member of the Leedey United Methodist Church where he was baptized on November 19, 1961. He was a very faithful and supportive member of his church. Always striving to live his Christian beliefs. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Ethel Martin and beloved wife, Leona, one daughter-in-law, Geraldine Adams and also an infant grandson. Those surviving to honor his memory include his daughter, Quanah Cummins of Lindsay, Oklahoma; two sons, Vernon Adams of Moore, Oklahoma and Larry Adams of Edmond, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law and many friends. Services were held at the Leedey First United Methodist church, Friday, November 14, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. Officiating was Kim Domnick, Pastor of the Leedey First United Methodist Church and Don Ross, Pastor of the Leedey First Baptist Church. At the age of 7, she moved to Cheyenne, Oklahoma attended school and graduated from his school there. She then moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma attende Draughn's Business School, took signing lessons and worked as a filing clerk. On October 16, 1953, she married Rodger Aanderud in Alameda, California. They returned to North Dakota in 1956, living at Maddock, Churchs Ferry and Leeds. In 1972, they moved to Michigan where Elizabeth had a daycare center in her home. She later worked as a cook and waitress at the Kite Cafe in Michigan and at the Sunlac Inn at Lakota. Elizabeth was a member of the Michigan Lutheran Church and its WELCA; served as Judge for the City of Michigan and for 16 years did the laundry for the michigan Ambulance Service. Survovirs include her husband, Rodger; 2 sons, Michael of Mes, AZ and Lee of Columbia, SC, 2 daughtrers and sons-in-law: Donna and Allan Popowski of Devils Lake, and Amanda and Brian Boxall of San Jose, CA; 2 grandchildren: Alicia and Derek Pospowski of Devils Lake; 3 brothers, Arhtur Eugene Ormand of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Charley Ray Ormand and Lloyd Ormand both of Mangum, Oklahoma, 2 sisters, Anna Bell McGlothlin of Spring Valley, CA and Peggy Cunningham of Cadiz, KY; several nieces and nephews and her special children, the Hendrickson's of Lakots. Hammons and passede from this life on November 8, 2001 at the age of 87 years and 8 months. On January 20, 1936 she was united in marriage to Chester Ray Young at Sayre, Oklahoma. To this union were born three sons, Bobby Doyal, Rickey Dwight and Terry Dale. Also coming to this marriage were two children, Deltha and Ray, born to Chester and his deceased wife Mae. Lenora raised them along with her three sons. Chester and Lenora farmed and owned a grocery store in and near Roll, Oklahoma until 1946 when they sold out and moved to the present farmsite south of Bethune, Colorado. They resided there until 1960 when Chester retired and they moved into Bethune. Leonard continued to cook for the school for several years. Later she moved to Burlington where she has resided since. Lenora became a Christian and joined the Seventh Day Adventist Church in February 1976. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, Deltha, four brothers, two sisters and one great grandchild. She is survived by her sons, Bob and wife Esther, Rickey and wife Barbara of Burlington, Tolorado, Terry and wife Debby of Grand Junction, Colorado, Ray and wife Wayna Jean Young of Elk City, Oklahoma one sister, Roberta and husband Grady Truelock of Dumas, Texas, ten loving grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Lenora Young were held Monday, November 12, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at the Love Funeral Home in Burlington, Colorado with Pastor Frank McNeil officiating. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery, Burlington, Colorado. Pud was born on December 9, 1916 in Rhea, Oklahoma to Merchison and Sallie Speer. Pud married Jesse Woodall on December 23, 1933 in Clinton, Oklahoma. She lived in the Clinton area since 1943. Pud was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was retired from the cafeteria at Washington Elementary. Pud volunteered at the Clinton Hospital for many years. She was "Head Baby Rocker" at the Lil Tots Daycare. Pud enjoyed quilting, bowling and garage sales. Officiaating was Dr. Billy Wheeler, pastor of Muskogee's Grandview Tabernacle. Bob Wheeler was preceded in death by his son, Greg and his grandson, Briar. The following information was printed in the Friday, October 5, 2001 edition of the Muskogee Paper. Boby Dean Wheeler, 61, a former teacher at West Junior High School, was found dead in a field norht of Okmulgee on September 29, 2001. "There was no signs of physical damage to the body." McCollum said. "He did not die of violent means." Wheeler's body was found in some trees, just outside the city limits on an oil lease, McCollum said. It is believed that Wehloler's body was at the location from 2 1/2 to 3 weeks, he said. "The cause of death would be nothing but an assumption at this time," McCollum said. The state medical examiner's office in Tulsa is listing the cause and manner of death as pending. Some tests, inclding toxicology tests, won't be complete for several weeks, the investigator said. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Christi Beth, and her parents. In 1960 she received her B.S. degree in Home Economics from Oklahoma State University. Liz was an exemplary wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She always served her community as a tireless volunteer and a host to everyone. Her hobbies included stained glass work, gardening, sewing, knitting, traveling and gourmet cooking. She excelled in all of them. During her 15 years in Stillwater, Oklahoma she served as a rush advisor to the Tau Beta Chapter of Chi Omega Fraternity; member and president of the Chi Omega Alumni Club; member and president of Chapter BU of PEO; member and president of the Stillwater Board of Education and many leadership positions within the First Presbyterian Church of Stillwater. She also served as a Den Mother, Brownie Mother, Girl Scout Leader, PTA supporter and Home Room Mother. For the past 19 years, she has lived in Bloomington, Indiana, where she has been an active member and leader in the First united Methodist Church; a member and president of Chapter AE and PEO; member and president of the Chi Omega Alumni Club; a member of Theatre Circle; a member and president of the local Council of Women; a member of the Borad of Driectors of the Bloomington Hospital; and a member of the initial Festival of Trees Coordinating Committee.
