They taught at Reydon, Durham and Crawford where he was Superintendent in the 30's and early 40's. His wife preceded him in death in 1982. He leaves one brother, Dr. Roy Anderson, Cordell, Oklahoma, nieces and nephews of his and his wife. Graveside services will be at Butler Thursday evening, December 5, 1986. He passed away October 6, 2002 in the Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 29 days. Bill moved with his parents at the age of 4 to the Canute community. He farmed for a short time before going to work for Music Sheet Metal. He was married to Teresa Cecilia Green at Arapaho, Oklahoma on July 31, 1947. They lived and farmed in the Elk City community before moving into town in 1957 to make their home. Bill worked with the State Highway Department until his retirement. He and Teresa were known for their garden. He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, active in the Knights of Columbus and was a server. His parents; wife; three brothers, Leo, Albert, and Edward; and two sisters, Hilda and Frances preceded him in death. Bill is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Gerlad and Lindsay Altenhofel, Cordell, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Tesa Altenhofel, Cordell, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Nathan Altenhofel, Sayre, Oklahoma and Brian Altenhofel, Cordell, Oklahoma; and one sister, Helen Beam, Monticello, Arkansas; along with a host of other relatives and friends. The Prayer Vigil was Sunday evening, October 8, 200 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church officiated by Father Timothy Fuller. He was a self-educated man, wrote some for the Canton paper, worked in Civil Service, was a minister of the gospel and in earlier days, he worked as a blacksmith and a carpernter. He was much loved. She departed this world Octobver 30, 1992 at Seiling, Oklahoma at the age of 53. She was given the nickname of Tootsie at an early age and it remained with her throughout her life. Tootsie attended Trail, Leedey, and Camargo Schools. She graduated from Camargo in 1957. She was a lover of sports, a natural athlete, and was a fierce competitor on the Camargo School basketball team. After high school Toot6sie moved to Woodward, where she worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell. On April 6, 1958 she was joined in marriage to Jerry Eugene Arnold, her childhood sweetheart and classmate. They made their home in Oklahoma City and later moved to Camargo. While there their first son, Allen Eugene was born. Later they moved to Woodward and Mooreland where Dena Lea, their only daughter was born. Jerry6's work in the oilfield took them to Fairview and Chickasha but in 1966 they returned to Camargo where they made their home and remained until the present. After their return to Camargo in the year 1968 they were blessed with another son, Eric Ross. At one time Tootsie owned and operated the Camargo Cafe and also cooked for the Camargo school for several years. She enjoyed working in the public. She also enjoyedc working with Jerry on their ranch west of Camargo. Tootsie was first a wife and mother and enjoyed spending time with her husband and children. She loved attending her children's sporting and other school events. She was always their biggest supporter and fan. Tootsie was a caregiver and was alway there when needed. She became a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Techination, because she was immediately interested in Medicine, but her main interest was helping those in need. Tootsie comforted many people and saved many lives, but the highlight of her E.M.T. career was the delivering of a new life in the ambulance. Tootsie was an active member of the United Methodist Church of Camargo, in which she was baptized. She loved the Lord and did many good works in his name. Tootsie gave her all to everything she did, even the fight with cancer that eventually took her life. Tootsie was precedede in death by her mother. She is survived by her husband, jerry Arnold and her three children, Allen Eugene Arnold of Ardmore; Dena Lea Baagley of Leedey; and Eric Rosa Arnold of oklahoma; her daughter in law, Dixie and her son in law Ken. Six grandchildren, Natalie, Jerri Gayle, Jordan, Erin, Loney and Kelca. Her father Wilford Allen of Leedey and three sisters, Connie Hazebaker of Yukon; Jo Harrel of Kingfisher; and Vicki Myers of Webb. Many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and loved ones. Services were held Friday at 2;30 p.m. at the Erick First Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Jeff Avery. Interment will be in the Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Fathree-Albert Funeral Home. Mrs. Allen was born March 27, 1876, in Leitchfield, Kentucky, and came to Oklahoma in 1896. She was married Januaary 17, 1897, to John F. Allen at Matha, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death July 14, 1952. Mr. and Mrs. Allen resided in the Blair community until 1923 when they moved to Hammon, later in 1943, they moved to Whittier, California. Mrs. Allen was brought back to Hammon where funeral services were held Thursday, September 1, 1966 in the First Baptist Church, with Rev. H.P. Elliott officiating. She was laid to rest in the Blair cemetery. She was a charter member of the First Baptist church of Blair. Allen, was born near Leedey, Oklahoma on December 10, 1888 and passed from this life in Elk City, Oklahoma on December 1, 1993, at the age of 84 years, 11 months and 21 days. John Robert spent hids childhood days on the farm west of Leedey, and completed his Elementary education in the Red Mound Rural School near his home and his high school years in the Libert Center School system, graduating with the high school class of 1927. The years of the life of John Robert Allen were unusudal in that with the exeption of 3 years spent in the Service of his Country, his entire life of very near 85 years was as a resident of the Leedey community. For a period of 13 years, he was employed as school bus driver for the Liberty Center School and the Leedey School district, a trusted and dependable employee. He enjoyed his young charges, their shcool interests, especially their athletic endeavors. He also served as a member of the Leedey Co-op Board for a number of years. In 1942, John R. Allen was called for Military Duty. He served his Country well as a member of the Air force as Airplane Mechanic, and held the Rank of Sargent at the time of his separation from the Army at the close of the War in 1945. He then returned to his farm west of Leedey where he was engaged in farming and ranching and made his home until 1977 when he moved to Leedey, where he made his home these past 15 years. Mr. Allen attended the Methodist Church of Leedey. He was a kind and helpful man, interested in the welfare of his loved ones and his many friends and neighbors, all of whom will miss this friend of so many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Olive Allen, 1 sister, Anna Noyes, and 2 brothers-in-law, Loyd Jackson and Lyle Noyes. He is survived by 1 sister, Georgia Jackson of Oklahoma City; 1 brother, Roger Allen of Leedey and 1 sister-in-law, Wilda Allen; 3 nieces, 9 nephews, and many, many friends, who will miss this one who has spent an entire life3 among them. She passed from this life February 15, 1991 in Woodward Memorial Hospital at the age of 78 years. Gwen attended the Webb rural school near her childhood home and attended high school in the Camargo School system. On May 30, 1931, Gen Heath and Chester Leon Cleveland were united in marriage in Woodward. The home was first established near Webb, then moved to Taloga for a shor time and then they moved to Texas remaining there until 1945. They returned to Camargo where they owned and operated the Camargo Grocery and Locker business for many years, working until Chester's health convinced them of his need to retire. They continued their residence in Camargo where they were living at the time of Chester's death in 1973. Four children were born Betty Jean, Clay Dean, Patsy Leone, and one little son who died in infancy. In 1947, Gwen made her commitment of faith and became a member of the Christian Church, Disciples of Christ. Her church family became a beautiful part of living. She was very active in the work of Christian Womens Fellowship and she will be greatly missed by her church family. Gwen Cleveland and Wilford Allen were united in marriage on August 5th, 1988 in Seling, Oklahoma. Gwen's second family was also very dear to her and she truly fulfilled this position in her life as a loving wife and mother to these beloved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one infant son, and two sisters, Grace Hunter and Gladys Humberd. Bridge Club and was an active member of the Elk City Country Club Womens Association and the United Methodist Church of Elk City. She was married to Bob F. Allee on October 1, 1940 at Chandler where they have shared over 58 years of marriage. Thomas, Kentucky, Larue Switzer and her husband, Larry Switzer of north of Elk City; granddaughters, Heather Switzer, Lara Leigh Switzer, Caitlin Allee Switzer, Jenny Eloise McCaslin and Coombs McCaslin; grandson, John Allee Switzer, brother, Gene Moore and his wife, Ellen of Baltimore, Maryland; sister, Patti LaForce and her husband, Watson of Midland, Texas; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Moore of Phoenix, Arizona; nieces, Laulie LaForce Ross of Dallas, Cliffy LaForce Beal of Midland, Jacquie Moor Porterfield of Phoenix, Arizona; nephews, James Moore of Dewey, Arizona, Watson LaForce III of Ft. Bob Allee was born June 4, 1909 in Roger Mills County to Frank and Nova Lucas Allee and died Monday, May 1, 200 at the age of 90. He attended Oklahoma University for two years and then graduated from Oklahoma A&M College of Business. He was married to Marjorie Moore on October 1, 1940 in Chandler. He ranched in western Oklahoma all of his life and also bred, raised and raced thoroughbred horses in central Kentucky. While at Okahoma A&M he was president of the Student Body and The Kappa Signa House. He established scholarships at both OSU and OU. He has served for 27 years on the Oklahoma Board of Higher Regents and had the most longevity of any member. He was a member of the Oklahoma Angus Association, the Oklahoma Polled Hereford Association, kentucky Thoroughbrfed Owners and Breeders Association, OSU Alumni Association where he received the Distinguished Alumni Award, Cowboy Hall of Fame, The Western Oklahoma Heritage Association, Elks Lodge, Elk City Golf and Country Club and the United Methodist Church of Elk City. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; one sister and one brother. Survivors include two daughters, Bobbi Francine McCaslin of Cincinnati, Ohio and Larue Switzer and her husband Larry Switzer of north of Elk City; five granddaughters and one grandson. Born in Mineral Wells, Texas, Allee had been an active cowboy since the age of 11, when he rode with a trail herd from Texas to the Chickasaw Indian Nation in Oklahoma. He and his wife, Mrs. Leona G. Allee, were married Jun 11, 1911 in Hammon, Oklahoma. They went to Pueblo in 1915 and Allee became foreman of the Bar J.H. Land and Livestock Co. and later the Tompkins Cattle Co. He started the Livesey Ranch in 1935 for Arthur and Allen, contractors, and later moved to Westcliffe where he owned and operated a 10,000 acre ranch for three years. He then returned to Pueblo and purchased the Livesey Ranch. Allee was a past president of the Pueblo County Stockmen's Association; past board member of the boards of Pueblo Saddle Club and the Colorado farm bureau. He also belonged to the Rocky Mountain Farmer's Union and the Elks. In addition to his widow, he is survived by four sons; Clarence B. Allee, Pueblo; Dale D. Allee of the ranch; Leonard W. Allee, Canon City, and A.J. Allee, Riverside, California; and three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Danielson, Pueblo, Mrs. Hazel Gist, Denver, and Mrs. Ruth Wilsoxson, Colorado Springs. A sister, Mrs. Margaret Hardwood, Riverside, California, 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Davis Mortuary, the Rev. W.C. Cornelison officiating. Elks Rite will be held at Pueblo Memorial Gardens. Mr. Allee was reared in this vicinity and married here. The Kendalls stayed with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Harold Parvers, Apache. His mother, Mrs. Helen Kendall, Fletcher, Mr. Alexander leaves his wife, Patricia Ann, 3 sons of Lawton, 2 brothers and 3 saisters and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Alexander of Cache. Mr. Campbell preceded her in death many years, having died in 1908. On April 24, 1932 she was married to John Albin of Sweetwater and he, too, preceded her in death, dying January 10, 1937. She joined the Church of Christ in early life and in 1931 united with the Assembly of God church of Sweetwater which faith she kept to the end. She was a devoted mother, a loyal friend, and a true chiristian. She also leaves two brothers, J.J. Yell, Sweetwater and Ellis Yell of Grimes; and one sister, Mrs. J.M. Following her marriage, she moved to Houston, Texas in 1992 she returned to Chanute. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God and VFW Post 1654 Auxiliary, Chanute. On September 4, 1966 she married Donnie Eugene Aikins at Chanute. They later divorced. Survivors includce a son, Donnie Aikins, Jr., Houston, Texas, a daughter, Roxanna Brock, Houston, Texas; her father, Charles Beck, Chanute; two brothers, Larry Joe Beck, Scottsdale, Arizona and Terry "Pete" Beck, Cheyenne, Oklahoma; and three grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gibson-Koch-Friskel Chapel, with Rev. Bill Peters officiating. Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery on Eat 14th Street.
