GEORGE MITCHELL IS INJURED Each of Three Occupants Of Car Recently Discharged Overseas Veterans of Word War II. One of the greatest road tragedies ever to occur in Roger Mills County was that of last Friday evening when two Crawsford men were killed and another critically injured. The accident occured about six miles north of Cheyenne about 7:30 in the evening, when the car overturned and rolled over several times. Clyde Gray, driver of the car was killed instantly and Elmo Young, one of the occupants, was knocked unconscious dying about six hours later George Mitchell, the other occupant of the car, was critically injured. His head and one of his lower limbs received a number of lacerations. However, his recovery is expected. It is presumed that one of the whells on thed Ford '36 V8 in which the men were riding, in route from Cheyenne to their home at Crawford, gave way, rendering the car uncontrollable. A passerby noticing the car overturned, stopped to discover Gray and Young pinned beneath the car. Mitchell had managed to get out of the car. Word was rushed to Cheyenne and an amublance rushewd to the sence. Young and Mitchell were taken to a Sayre hospital where Young died a few hours later. Gray, Young and Mitchell each had recently been dischared from the armed forces. Gray who was about 23 years of age, was single and resided at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Gray.
