Johnson of Arnett had been killed by falling and breaking his neck. Mr. Johnson has started to Stillwater Saturday to place his son, Daved in school. A telegram reached them at Stillwater in time that they were able to get back to Arnett in time for the funeral Tuesday morning. Floyd was a fine boy, but on acccount of some sickness he had fainting spells occasionally and we presume it was in one of these weak spells that he fell and met with his death. The funeral services was preached at the Arnett church Tuesday morning by Rev. Butler. Mr. Johnson and family are very widely known and a host of friends sympathize with them in this bereavement. Vredenburg died in Grand after an illness of about four weeks with typhoid fever. He had been in Grand between two and three weeks and the fever had broken; and he was apparently getting well when he was suddenly taken with a hemorrhage of the bowels late Saturday night and he died from loss of blood in about an hour. T.B. Howard, undertaker and embalmer of Gage, came over and laid him out Sunday morning and he was taken to Durham (Fairview cemetery) and buried that day. His wife had been here throughout his sickness and a brother from Orson, Iowa, arrived here about three days before his death. Mr. Vredenburg had a homestead and some stock south of Durham and carried one thousand dollars life insurance. He was a man of large ability and considerable education and was held in high esteem by his neighbors generally. He was not much acquainted in the immediate locality of Grand. He was nominated this summer by the socialist of Roger Mills County for County School Superintendent. His death was a great shock to the people of this community although he was not much known here.
