Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, March 16th,2006 @ l p.m. at Greenwood Memorial Gardens in Grass Valley. Lillian was born March 24, 1909, near Clinton, Oklahoma. She was the eldest of three daughters and three sons of John Lee and Ada Snider Daugherty. Lillian was a graduate of Cheyenne (Oklahoma) High School, Class of 1928's Salutatorian. In 1929 she married Charles "Charlie" Combs in Pampa, Texas. Lillian aand Charlie lived on cattle ranches in Texas, New Mexico and California. They were active in rodeos and the American Quarter Horse Association from 1940 to 1974. Upon Charlie's retirement in 1975, they moved to Grass Valley. They were married for 65 years until his death in 1994. Lillian is survived by her sson Bill and daughter-in-law Shelley of Grass Valley; brother Bob of Stillwater, Oklahoma; three grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 12399 Nevada City, Highway, Grass Valley, California 95945. Reed, frequent visitor to the Cheyenne area, were held March 4, 2006 at the Little River United Methodist Church of Christ in Annadale, Virginia. He passed away February 23rd in Falls Church, Virginia. He was born April 2, 1956 in Cleburn, Texas to CF.E. and Alta Riley Reed. Interment was at Cleburne, Texas, March 6, 2006. Riley was a graduate of Harding University. He served as Yourth Director at Churches of Christ in Cleburne, Texas, Sleta, Colorado and Seattle, Washington. He was also a Fligh Attendant for T.W.A. and American Airlines for eighteen years. He was employed by the Falls Church, Virginia school systems as a bus driver at the time of his passing. Riley was a very accomplished singer and during his college years he toured Europe with several singing groups. He was a member of his church choir and the Fairfax Co. Virginia horal society. He performed in concerts often, many which included solo performances. He is survived by his siter Sonja Ribble and husband J.C. of Grandbury, Texas, and brother Ed and wife Wanda of Cleburne, several nieces and nephews and numerous relatives and friends. Seventeen family members from Oklahoma, Texas, and California flew to Virginia for Riley's funeral, including Janet and Leon Malson and Gerry Saiz of Cheyenne and Sherry Anderson of Weatherford.     2. Hi to everyone on this list. We haven't been very active and I think it is time that we started....I just saw two people who are researching the name Picklesimer get together. Perhaps you have some names that you are researching. Would each of you on this list take time in the next day or two and list some of the surnames that you are researching? Maybe we can help each other...Our Coordinator has been working really hard to enter some new info. Wanda who types all of the obits is a jewel and we need to thank her. When some more of the new info is placed online that our genealogy society has collected here in our county; then we will all want to vote for our county to receive the monthly award -- because we never have received it!! Their fourth child John Morris was born June 12, 1901 in McCune, Crawford County, Kansas. The family moved to Garvin County, Oklahoma in 1902. The four remaining children were born there. They were: Myrtle Maude, born November 17, 1906, Ivy Dora, born May 14, 1909, Lester Warren, born February 19, 1912 and Chester Chanley, born July 4, 1915. In about 19411, her health began to fail and after that she lived with Bob and Myrtle Donaldcson who in the early 1940's movedd to a farm near Rose Hill, seven miles south of Cheyenne. Because of her health problems, she spent much of her time in bed piecing quilts for her family. Her grandchildren knew her as Ma. He also leaves one sister, Amanda Buchannen of Dainia, Fla. His parenets three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. He was a good husband and father; a loyal neighbor, always ready to lend a helping hand and a friend to everyone he knew. Burial was in the Silent Home cemetery at Roll, Oklahoma, under the direction of the Tunnard Funeral Home. Rev. C.B. Reneau, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Cheyenne, officiated at the services. Funeral services were held at White Salmon, Washington with Bro. J.I. Rude officiating. Gardners Funeral Home at 2 P.M. Monday, December 2, 1946 in White Salmon, Washington.
