She was born June 2, 1934, in Strong City, OK, to Marion and Hester Petty. She moved to Morgan County in 1954. On July 25, 1959, she married Clarence E. Leis in Denver. She had worked as a bookkeeper for the Moose Lodge of Morgan County for 21 yedars. She was an active member of the VFW Auxiliary for 43 years, serving as secretary/treasurer. She was also a member of the EMCH Auxiliary, Entre Nous in Hillrose, and Beetdigger Booster Club. She participated and lettered in sports while in high school in the 1950's and she later attended a business college in Oklahoma City, OK. She enjoyed sewing, especially making baby blankets and bibs. She enjoyed participating and watched sports, especially watching her children and grandchildren; she was also a notary public. Survivors include her husband, Clarence of Brush; three chi! ldren, Larry C. Leis of Fort Lupton, CO, Linda Gutierrez of Wheatland, WY, and Diane Wilson of Colorado Springs; 1 brother, M.A. Petty of Exeter, CA; 1 sister, Cynthia Ann Petty, Plays del Ray, CA; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Bullard Adkins, and her parentsa. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am at the Heer Mortuary in Brush. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Multiple Sclerosis Association or to the Breast Cancer Foundation c/o the mortuary. She was born November 30, 1916 in Moorewood, OK to Mac and Sallie Blaylock Mullins. On September 18th, 1938 at Cordell, Oklahoma she was united in marriage to William Granville Byford. To this union one son, Billy, was born. Those remaining to honor her memory are her son Bill and his wife Betty of Yukon, two grandchildren, Tracy Saha and husband Todd of Houston, Texas and Jeff Bayford and wife Nicole of Valdosta, Georgia. Also surviving are two sisters, Louise Tucker of Fairfield, Texas and Lavelle Allen of Amarillo, Texas and one brother Tim Mullins of Arapaho, Oklahoma together with numerous friends and relatives. Leona was preceded in ddeath by her husband, her parents, four sisters two brothers Leona was a long time member of Bethel Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphona Society or to Hospitace of Oklahoma County. Services will be held 10:00 am Thursday, June 22, 2006 at Bethel Baptist Church and graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm at New Herman cemetery south of Leedey, OK. The two boys were sleeping near a chimney upstairs. The one killed was next to the wall and was thrown over the other boy onto the floor some six feet from the bed. Wallace in Day County 17 miles northeast of Cheyenne on Friday, July 14, 1906. All had retired, three of the Wallace childdren ranging from 8 to 14 years of age were sleeping on the floor in from of an open window. During the night a vagrant dog strayesd in the house awakening a hired hand, who called Mr. Wallace and told him that "he had better kill the dog". Mr. Wallace aroused from a very heavy slumbedr arose, discharged the gun into thed midst of the sledeping childdren, killing one boy, age 10years, instantly and seriously woundsing the other 2 children. Dr. J.P. Miller was hastily called by telephone and at last reports the two injured childdren are improving rapidly and will soon be around again. She continued to live in Durham and was married to Wade Hampton Daniel at Las Cruces, New Mexico on September 10, 1950. They moved to the Reydon community and later to Cheyenne in 1990 to make their home. Fredda Mae loved to sew, crochet, needle point, and taking care of her rose bushes. She was a member of the Cheyenne First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sons, James, Fred, Leslie, one infant daughter, one step son Aubrey Daniel, and one step daughter Mary Hopkins. Services wwill be held June 21, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cheyenne First Baptist Church officiated by Jeff Hurlbutt and Jeff Jackson. Burial will be at White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the diredction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service, Cheyenne. Her survivors include her children: Ruth Holley, Chickasha, OK, Ray Hughes and wife Rita, Cheyenne, OK, Bruce Daniel and wife Claudine, Snyder, OK, Linda Holley and husband Cecil, Rocky, OK, Floe Keith and husband Joe, Billings, OK, William Daniel and wife Sharon , Edmondd, OK. LaMar was born on October 2, 1955 in Las Vegas, New Mexico. His school years were in Santa Fe, New Mexico until, with his parents and brothers, he moved to Sayre and continued his education at Sayre High School. LaMar is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe B. Lamb and Mr. and Mrss. Loyd Scott and two brothers, Gary Don Lamb and Glen Scott Lamb. He leaves so many to mourn his passing. His two sons, Chad Ray amb and Paul Michael Lamb, his father and mother, Stanley and Betty Lamb, his brothers Joe Lynn and wife Julie, and Greg and his wife, Cindy, six grandchildren: Alexis, Seth, Eron, Brittany, Sarah, and Michael Scott, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. LaMar always wanted to make things with his hands so he started his carpentry and had become a Master Carpenter. His talents and gifts includded laying tile, roofing, plumbing, finish carpentery and anything else that was required to complete a job from start to finish. He seldom needed to call other specialists to complete the work he started. He was the complete carpenter. LaMar had been working at the Red River Ranch Retreat of Sayrea for the past two years for Ridge and Elizabeth Lamar. There he has built cabins and bunkhouses that people might have a place to find rest. There, LaMar found great peace and love. Services were held June 19, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Fellowship officiated by Andy Taylor and Pastor Ridge Lamar. She lived in Kansas, Georgia and then returned to western Oklahoma. She volunteered at nursing homes and was active in blood drives in her community. She was preceded in death by her parents, and four brothers, Billy Newton Dykes, Doyle Duane Dykes, Teddy Eugene Dykes and Leslie Joe Dykes. While going down the hill approaching the bridge acrosss Sandstone Creek the backing strap broke and the buggy ran into the horse causing it to run. Mrs. Sprawl jumped out and fell on her head killing her almost instantly. Mrs. Hardin was thrown out further on and received sever injuriess. Mrs. Sprawl will be remembered as the widow Haulman, and was about 40 years old. She leaves a son and two daughters, all growwn or large enough to take care for themselves.
