Stephen Ray was born May 21, 1949 and died January 6, 1950, following a brief illness. Immediate survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Donovan Wesner, one sister Donna Mac Wesner, and one brother, Johnnie and a host of other relatives and friends. Rev. Don Anderson, pastor of the local Baptist church delivered the funeral sermon, in the presence of a large crowd of relatives and friends. Mr. Allen was born January 16, 1924 in Strong City, Oklahoma to Roger Monroe Allen and Lola Grace (Lacey) Allen. Troy was preceded in death by his beloved parents: the love of his life, his wife and mother of his children, Ulla Mae (Mace) Allen. Left to mourn his loss, are his beloved daughters Lana Mae Shannon and husband Lonnie of Kansas, Theresa Lyvon Kelly of Farmington, Troyetta Lynn Hargiss and husband William C. Hargis of Aztec; brothers, Bill Allen of Alaska, Joe Allen and wife Carol of Texas, Roger Allen and wife Danetta of Texas; sister Addie Chancellor and husband Jim of Idaho and Peggy Gerhardson of Flora Vista; grandsons whom he loved dearly, Jack Boyle, Gary Boyle and Troy Boyle all of Kansas, Preston Harper of Colorado, Desmond Tucker and Calvin Hargis both of Aztec, granddaughters who were the apple of his eye, Melissa Crawford of Arizona and Amanda Doran of Kansas and 14 great grandchildren. Mr. Allen served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the following decorations and medals: Asiatic Pacific Theater, Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Unit Award and Vicory Medal. He was a heavy equipment operator in Nevada, retiring from Operating Engineers, and then later worked on the Alaska Pipeline, Prudhoe Bay also retiring from Veco Inc. Mr. Allen was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He has always been supportive and willing to lend a hand and a prayer to anyone who needed it. All of these traits will be greatly missed especially his smile. His smile made his "John Wayne" character. A celebration of Troy's life was held on Monday, September 18, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at New Life in Christ Church, 1108 N. Dustin Ave. in Farmington with Pastor Stephen Marquez and Reverednd Bob Jacquez officiating. Mr. Allen will then be laid to rest next to his sweetheart at Greenlawn Cemetery in Farmington. Pallbearers are Chuck Hargis, Bill K. Hargis, Dale Werito, Roy Dobey, Wayne Clark and John Hass. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Hargis, Lonnie Shannon, Doug Miller, Troy Lee Boyle, Gary Boyle, Desmond Tucker, and Calvin Hargis. He was raised on a farm at Durham and was home schooled. He traveled to Kansas on January 24, 1939, to stay with his brother and find work. After three months and no luck,. except one-half day of chopping wood for a neighbor he saw an ad in the paper that read "Wanted capable farm hand. No Smoking, Board and Room, $20.00 per month, Albert Culverwell, Craig, Colorado." Rufus lost no time in coming to Craig, and was immediately hired to work on the Culverwell homestead. He worked there unil December 15, when he returned to Oklahoma and married Ruby Mae Warren. They returned to Craig on May 12, 1946, and Earle worked for the Culverwell's until April 1955, when they rented a house east of Craig, which they have resided in since, and he began farming. Rufus worked for six years for vaarious people on farms before opening his own welding business, The Craig Welding Service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, square dancing, bowling and playing cards. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, the Craig Odd Fellow Lodge since 1953 and served in all of its chairs. He was a longtime member of the Moffat County Sheriff's Posse since 1974 and was a member of the Craig Police Reserve at one time. He helped with local activities such as football and basketball games, dances and horse races. Rufus died on Friday, August 25, 2006, at The Memorial Hospital in Craig following a brief illness. He is survived by his daughters, Dotsie Airene Kent of Grand Junction, Patricia Whiteself of Craig, Edna Lou (Robbie) Robinson of Craig and Carrie Faye Hanes of Cushing, Oklahoma; sons, Thomas (Nona) Earle of Craig and Foye Lee (Sheila) Earle of Elk City, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. His parents, Robert and Lou Era Earle, brothers, Wilton, Seale, Dawin, Clyde, Bill, Cloyde and his twin brother Rupert; his half sister, Dotsie; and his daughter, Hazel Mae Taylor, preceded him in death. A funeral was held on Tuesday, August 29, 2006, at Grant Mortuary in Craig, with Gene Parrott officiating. Wanda Brown, accompanied on the organ by Anne Carr, sang, "On the Wings of a Snow White Dove," "Amazing Grace" and "When the Roll is Calleds up Younder." Pallbearers were Norman Culverwell, Dennis Parrott, Charles White ands Bill Rice. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Mollison, Bob DeRenard, Hugh Self and Kenneth Buckman. Myrtle was born Feburary 28, 1920 in Durham, Oklahoma to Tony and Minnie Widener, she moved to California to be near to her brother and worked for PAC Tel & Tel for 15 years. She married James D. Ray on September 10, 1952. Later they moved to Idaho where they farmed in Payette & Nampa. Myrtle was a member of the Nampa First Assembly of God Church and made many fine quilts for the WM"S. She is survived by a son Gary, daughter-in-law, Meg and two grandchildren, Luke and Sarah of Issaquah, Washington. The grandson of Joseph Alexander lives in Cheyenne and is very active in our Historical Society, his Methodist Church, etc. He gets around everywhere in town in a wheelchair...He and his wife live in Cheyenne just across from our hospital. The information about the family is about 2 columns long on pages 672 and 673 in our Roger Mills County Cemeteries and More book published in 1995 by Glen Crane. In the back of this cemetery book are biographies of the people buried in the cemeteries. ALFRED MOAD - Kiowa Cemetery Alfred Moad was born 30AUG1826 in Illinois, died in the Kiowa Community 1OCT1905. He served in the Mexican War. He was a wagon master, guiding people to the California Gold Rush in 1849. He was married to Louisa May Davis, 21MAR1858 in California. Their chidred were: Joseph Alexander, William Gilpin; Mary Lincoln; Anna Clara; John M.; Thomas Custer; Charles Samuel; Albert C; Amy Zaida; George Washington and Leonidas E. William Gilpin Moad was born 10OCT1866, son of Alfred Moad and Elizabeth (Davis) Moad, died 12FEB1939. He had one daughter, Anna Mae, buried at Pauls Valley, Indian Territory. Uncle Will lost one arm and an eye in a ginning accident, but, he was able to work as hard as any man. He freighted between Elk City and Leedey for many years. Violet was born on November 22, 1909 to Clyde and Lena Mohling Witt at Rhea, Oklahoma. Violet lived in both the Rhea and the Leedey communities as a child and graduated from Leedey Public Schools. Violet married Lee Fox after high school and this union was blessed with two sons, Leland and Dean. The family lived in the Leedey area. Violet was a homemaker and enjoyed playing the piano. Violet was a member of the United Methodist Church of Leedey. She was baptized as an infant. Violet's church family was very important to her. She played the piano for many years for church services and activities. She also was privileged to be asked many times to play at funerals and community programs in Leedey and the surrounding communities. Violet was a member of the Eastern Star and received her 50 year pin. Besides playing the piano she enjoyed quilting and crocketing bed spreads. Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Fox, her parents, Clyde and Lena Witt, by one son, Dean Fox and by one brother, Lamar Witt. She is survived by her son, Leland Fox and wife Elma of Cushing, Oklahoma; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild; nieces, nephews other family and a host of friends. During this time September 25, 1987, he married Gail Willmoth; they made their home in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. Tommy enjoyed riding his motorcycle. In 2003 he became a member of Western Plains Down Bikers Association. His biggest passion was riding his trike "Animal" in poker runs and benefit rides. Tommy loved to build trikes, trailers and could build anything that he set his mind to. He lived in Iowa and Kansas before coming to Oklahoma in 1899 with his parents. In 1902 they arrived at the place known as old Rankin and now known as Reydon. From December 31, 1917 to May 20, 1919 he was a member of the Armed Forces and fought for his country during World War I. August 12, 1924, he was married to Pauline Anna Yost at Cheyenne, Oklahoma. From the time of his marriage until his passing they made their home at Reydon. He was active in all school and civic affairs and was a strong believer in the teachings of the Bible. He was a member of the I.O.O.F.,, Rebekah Lodge and American Legion. He was loved by all who knews him and was always doing kind deeds for someone, expecially school children. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Wineinger of the home address and one brother, Roy Wineinger. Services were held Wednesday, April 27, 1949 at 2:30 p.m. from the First Baptist Church a Reydon. Committal will be in the Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Scroggins Funeral Home. Mrs. Bull died Monday, March 28, 1949 after an illness of many months. She was 77 years of age. Survivors include the husband, and oned daughter, Mrs. Zada Moraine, boh of Crawford, another daughter, Mrs. Marvin Easley of Berlin, Oklahoma, and one son A.D. Bull of Woodward, Oklahoma. Mrs. Bull had resided in the Crawford community since 1900. She had been a member of the Church of Christ for many years. She was united in marriage to George F. White in 1892. To this union five children were born. One of these preceded her in death. They moved from Mangum to Reydon in 1940, and have made their home here to this date. Mrs. White united with the Baptist Church when a young girl and lived a faithful member until the end. She was a loving mother and a devoted wife always kind and patient. Mrs. White was loved by all who knew her. She leaves to mourn her departure: Her husband, George F. White; four daughters, Mrs. V.O. Sumpter of Reydon, Mrs. Jim Long of Mangum, Oklahoma, Mrs. Alma Brewer, Clovis, New Mexico, Mrs. E.D. Shaller Killed In Auto Mishap Thur. Coming as a great shock to the people of Cheyenne was the news that C.C . Shaller had been killed in an automobile accident on last Thursday night, December 23, 1948 as he was enroute from Cheyenne to Amarillo, Texas. A large crowd from Cheyenne and vicinity attended the funeral services of Mr. Shaller at Canadian, Texas Sunday, after which burial was in Amarillo. The following, is the account as published in an Amarillo Texas paper. Mr. Shaller was killed at 6:00 o'clock Thursday evening when the car in which he was riding was involved in a collision with a transport truck near Alanreed, 74 miles east of Amarillo on Highjway 66. Jack Jackson, 33 years olds, Oklahoma City, driver of the truck, leaped clear off the vehicle just before it was overturned. He was unhurt. The Shaller automobile careened off the north side of the highway and plummeted over a 20-foot embankment. Mr. Shaller was dead when highy patrolmen arrived at the scene of the accident. Mr. Shaller was returning to Amarillo from Oklahoma City to spend Christmas with his family when the mishap occured. Born October 10, 1885 in Kansas, Mr. Shaller moved to Canadian in 1887 with his parents where his father, C .H. Shaller, was a rancher. He attended Texas University and was graduated in 1910 with a law degree, after which he went into the cattle business with his father. In 1912 he was married to Bertha Maty Newman, daughter of an early day Canadian physician. In 1918 he purchased the old Shufeld ranch 12 miles northwest of Cheyenne in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. After his eldest son, Orville, returned from college in 1938, they formed a partnership and operated the Oklahoma ranch, known as the Red Moon Ranch. The Red Moon Ranch covers approximately 10 sections along the Washita River. For the past two years Mr. Shaller has been engaged in oil business and had spent a great deal of his time near Oklahoma City. He was a past president of the Oklahoma Cattle Breeders Association. Mr. and Mrs. Shaller moved to Amarillo in 1927, and Mrs. Shaller has taught math in Amarillo High School since that time. Survivors, other than his wife and son, Orvill Shaller includxe another son, Walter S. Shaller, 1410 West Eleventh, manager of the Service & Supply Company; four brothers, Frank J. Shaller of Canadian, Lee Shaller of Pampa, Elva Shaller of Euireka, California, and Rolla H. Shaller of Amarillo, and four nieces, Miss Alice Shaller of Dalhart, Miss Ruth Shaller of New York City, and Mrs. Carl Studer and Mrs. Troy Newton, both of Canadian. Mollie Burnett was born October 16, 1884 in Old Ham County, Texas the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G.H. Dobbs. She passed away December 24, 1948 at the Sayre hospital after a critical illness of a few days. She was united in marriage to Henry E. Burnett, December 24, 1902. To this union two children were born, both of whom died in infancy. Mrs. Burnett came to Roger Mills County in 1893. She was a member of the Methodist church. Survivors are her husband of Cheyenne, her mother, Mrs. G.H. Lilley, who has been confined to his home for many months after suffering several strokes of paralysis, passed away Saturday afternoon as he sat in his chair at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Orbison in Elida. The 82-year-old father was a pioneer resident of Roosevelt county, having homesteaded in the Elida vicinity in 1911 and was a very successful farmer. He is survived by his three daughters, Mrs. Orbison, Mrs. Jake McCabe and Brs. J.A. Eakins, all of the Elida vicinity. He was born in Titus county, Texas and while no funeral arrangements have been completed the body will be taken to Dangerfield for burial. There are also six grandchildren among whom are Bernard Eakins and Lillie Barton, both of Durham; three great grandchildren, two of whom are J.B.
