She was married to Joe Abb Ray March 11, 1914 at Hammon and they resided on a farm in the Nine Mile community until 1947, when they moved into Hammon where she has lived since. Mr. Ray preceded her in death July 14, 1969. Mrs. Ray was a longtime member of the Hammon Church of Christ. Survivors include 3 sons, Joseph D. Ray, Hammon, Hubert Ray, Elk City, Foy Ray, Shertz, Texas, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Commital was in the Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Mrs. Moad passed away in the Roger Mills Memorial hospital June 30, 1966, following a brief illness. Born in 1892, in Rhudehouse, Illinois. Mrs. Moad had resided in the vicinity of Roger Mills County for the past 60 years. As Miss Wreatha Nichols, she taught in the Roger Mills county schools prior to her marriage to Jodie S. Moad, on August 23, 1916, in Hammon. Since that time, Mr. and Mrs. Moad resided in the Herring community in Hammon, and in Cheyenne. Immediate survivors are her husband, Jodie S. Moad of Cheyenne, two sons, Quentin of Sayre and Joe Frank of Cheyenne, a daughter, Anna Mae Zollner of Fort Collins, Colorado, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mrs. Moad was an active member of the Methodist church in Cheyenne, the Rebekah Lodge and the Platonic Club of this city and a member of the Oyohoma Club of Oklahoma City, which is a club composed of wives of legislators. For a number of years, Mrs. Moad had chose as a guide to living a full life, that of learining to do something new each year. Thus it was she was enable to live more fully the present. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK FARM HUNTING ACCIDENT NEAR REYDON PROVES FATAL FOR 25 YEAR OLD CHARLIE ROY KING A hunting accident Saturday claimed the life of Charles Roy King, 25 years of age, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frankie Lou King of Moore. He came Saturday to the holm of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E.T. Gamble who reside on a farm near Reydon to visit and hunt for a time. Acording to information received from authorities, young King left the Gamble home about 10:30 Saturday morning to hunt. He did not return for lunch and when night fall began to arrive and he had not yet returned, his grandparents went out to look for him. After searching for a time and not finding the grandson, they notified his father at Moore, who immediately came to the scene. A searching party of neighbors and friends was formed to traverse each portion of the Gamble farm. At 7:20 Sunday morning his body was found about one mile northeast of the Gamble home in a pasture. He was found on the farm holding a high powered rifle with both hands and apparently had accidently leaned on it causing it to discharge and was shot fatally in the head. Charles Roy King was a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Gamble of Reydon, Mrs. Jennie King, of Reydon, and Joe King, of Harrah. His mother, Mrs. Frankie Lou King is a former teacher of the Cheyenne Grade School. Services for the deceased were conducted Tueday in the community room at Reydon. Gilliland, aged Cheyenne resident died from flames at his residence early Tuesday morning. He was approximately 94 years of age and had been a resident of Roger Mills County for more than half a century. The fire alarm sounded at 8:15 a.m. Firemen rushed to the scene to find the house where the aged man resided alone, aglow weith flames. They found the man laying on a couch, with a pipe nearby. It was only through the use of a fog spray after the house was opened, that firemen were able to remove the couch and the suffocated man. Fire Chief, R.L. Trammell stated that the volunteer firemen used advantagedoulsy, some of the techniques learned at the recent fire school. A bundle of orchids, one for each of Cheyenne's volunteer firemen. The son of Hester Florence and Frank Wesley Edgington. He, his wife, grand son, and brother-in-law departed this life January 21, 1966 at the home near Crawford. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by, his daughter and son-in-law Betty Jean and Jack White; two grandchildren. His moter, Hester Edgington; 4 sisters, Bernice Johnson, Erma Coap, Eileen Clark and Ellen Davis; 2 brothers, Kermit Edgington and Roy Cay Edgington; and a host of other relatives and friends. Roy has been a member of the Baptist Church since April 28, 1954. ASPHYXIATION CAUSES DEATH OF FOUR PEOPLE NEAR CRAWFORD Asphyxiation from fumes attributed to a faulty vent from a furnace has claimed the lives of four people near Crawford. They are Mr. and Mrs. Ray Edgington, their grandson, Kim White and her brother Lloyd (Dutch) Rorabough. The 9-year-old White boy resided in Pampa, Texas. The other three were residents of the Crawford community. The lifeless bodies were found at 12:45 Sunday by Leon Malson who went to the Edgington home where the tragedy occured at the request of Mrs. Mae Dickason, a sister of Mrs. Edgington. Mrs. Dickason became alarmed when there was no response to numerous telephone calls she made to the Edgington home. Lifeless bodies were found in beds and it is presumed death came Friday night before it became known on Sunday. This one of the greatest tragedies ever to strike Roger Mills County has cast a shadow of gloom over everyone. The Rorabaughs and Edgingtons are among the pioneer people of the Crawford area. The Edington home, scene of the tragedy, is on their farm which adjoins Crawford on the south. Mr. and Mrs. Edgington's only child, a daughter, Betty, resides with her family in Pampa, Texas, Lloyd "Rorabaugh's wife Opal, a nurse, has been employed at Newman Memorial in Shattuck for a number of years.
