    1. [OKPUSHMA] Civil War Indian Territory, Indian Home Guards Pages
    2. Hello researchers,, If some of your family fought during the Civil War in Indian Territory as soldiers in the US Indian Home Guards, I have posted 3 pages, Dischareges, Pension Applications and Pensions of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Indian Home Guards. These were taken from the Cherokee Adovocate, Jan. 14, 1871. The information was donated to the site, Civil War In Indian Territory by Ms. Nita Justice. Go to http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Hills/1263/uniontroops.html to see the lists. They contain many with their Indian Names, rank, company, regiment. These records can be found in the National Archives. Hope it helps someone. Ethel Taylor Bandony1@cs.com 55500 Bates Rd. 3. Hi Tammy, Welcome to the OKPUSHMA list. I have set the reply to button so that when you want to reply to a message that was sent to the list, it automatically gets sent to the list also. Sometimes that is helpful to those of us who are needing an answer to an already asked question. That we all get to see the question and the answer. Post who you are looking for. I must tell you that I do not live in Push Co, and I myself do not have any ancestors that I am looking for in Push Co, at least not that I know of yet. Have you seen the web site for Push Co? Click on link below if you have not: http://www.roostweb.com/~okpushma/PushCo.html I try to help where I can but do not have many resources at my finger tips to help. When I get information I feel is helpful, I put it on the web site. Plus, I post anything on there people send me and give the submitter credit. Also, check out the PuAdd.html page from the web site. The link is under Push Co researchers. Some on the list do live in Push Co, but I do not know who they specifically are. I hope you are able to find the information you are looking for. Good luck, Jacque ----- Original Message ----- From: Tammy Yedinak <tyedinak@3rivers.net> To: <OKPUSHMA-L-request@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, January 05, 2000 2:53 PM Subject: Subscribe > Subscribe > >

    1. Re: [OKPUSHMA] Watsons in Pushmataha County
    2. Would someone PLEASE help me if you can! I am desperately seeking information on the Watson family who lived in Antlers, OK in 1910. They were George and Ella May Watson. George worked at the Sawmill and Ella was a house wife. On the day of the census they had an infant daughter (un-named) and two of George's step daughters living in the house hold. They were Jane Alverson, age 13 and Mary Alverson, age 7. Their father was killed by his brother and I am trying to locate their descendants. I am not sure if George Watson adopted them or not. ANY information would be most appreciated!

    3. Merry Christmas everyone! I just wanted to let everyone know that I will be gone for the holidays, Dec 24 - Dec 31, I hope. Hopefully, the weather in SLC or Idaho Falls won't prevent me from coming home before the new year. I will probably get back to tons of email, but I hope to see where all of you, on this list, have made a connection with each other or news that you have made a connection somewhere in your research. That is my Christmas wish to each of you. Good luck. Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful, successful New Year! 1. [OKPUSHMA] Updated Pushmataha County web site
    2. Jacque Hopkins Wolski
    3. I sent an email to this list yesterday, telling you I have recently updated the web site for Push Co. I forgot to tell you, that if you had bookmarked the page before, you need to go to the new URL http://www.rootsweb.com/~okpushma/PushCo.html by typing it in and then re-bookmarking it. If you use the old bookmark (http://www.rootsweb.com~okpushma/ it takes you to the index page. Also, instead of the standard link buttons on most sites, most of the links on this site are words and are in a different color than most of the text. You will notice that when you position your mouse over the words in color, they will change to yet a different color and you can click on it. Then, as any other site on the internet, when you have visited another page and come back to the home, page, the link you visited changes to yet another color. If this is too confusing, I can change it back to a button or something. Also, if the various links mentioned which are sprinkled throughout the first page, are also too confusing, I can put all the links to the various other sites and pages in a cluster at the bottom if that will be easier for everyone. 1. [OKPUSHMA] The pages are done!
    2. Jacque Hopkins Wolski
    3. Hello everyone, The web site is done. It's updated. Yeah! Please check out the new pages at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~okpushma/PushCo.html There are links on the main page to the following pages: http://www.rootsweb.com/~okpushma/PuAdd.html which are addresses and email links to Push co researchers; addresses of important places to find info in OK, etc. http://www.rootsweb.com/~okpushma/PuArch.html which is to a page of some archival info held in Antlers. http://www.rootsweb.com/~okpushma/PuPush.html which is to a page of info about the Choctaw Nation with photos of Chief Pushmataha and Chief Wanatubbe (can't spell his name off the top of my head). http://www.rootsweb.com/~okpushma/PuQuery.html which is to the 1999 queries people have submitted to be put on the web site. But now there are links at the bottom of the first page to the GENCONNECT boards hosted by rootsweb.com where you can submit queries, info on any bible records, pensions, wills, bios, & deeds you might have. But remember, if you post a query to a non-query board (i.e., pensions, wills, bible, deeds & bios) they will be deleted. I hope you enjoy the new look and will give me some feed back on what you think and let me know if any links do not work. I have checked them all out and don't think there is a link that is not working. But I make mistakes, LOL.
