Thanks Jacque ----- Original Message ----- From: Pennycuff To: hopkinsj@ida.net Sent: Thursday, April 13, 2000 6:08 PM Subject: TOWNSEND,McCARTY Hello. Anyone have info on the JUMBO,OK cemetary or how to obtain records of burials there? I am searching for info on my grandparents, William "Mose" TOWNSEND and wife, Lydia W. McCARTY TOWNSEND. They owned the store at JUMBO,OK around 1920 and are listed in the 1910 Push,OK census in KOSOMA,OK. They had 8 children, 4 of which died as infants or young children and are buried at JUMBO cemetary. Also believed buried there is Mose Townsend's father, Liston TOWNSEND(D.1925). There use to be a "Work Day" once a year for families to clean-up the JUMBO cemetary. Anyone know who heads that up? Anyone know funeral homes in business in the area about 1910-1925? Many TOWNSEND and McCARTY siblings lived around KOSOMA and ANTLERS in 1910. TOWNSEND siblings include: John, Lydia,Tabethie,Annie,Mary Elizabeth, Cora and Octa. ANY information on this family or JUMBO cemetary would be appreciated! Thanks Oklahoma!

    3. Peggy, I don't know if this is the one that you are looking for but there are some similiarities. There is a N.J. Birdsong 6 Jan 1858-26 Aug 1909, buried in the West Fork Cemetery in Pushmataha County. It is a very small cemetery with about 50 graves located on private property. There was a Virgil Birdsong that died recently here in Clayton who was probably related to this person. His widow still lives here. Hope this will help you. Don Nichols, Sr. "Peggy C. 1. [OKPUSHMA] Lucy SINGLETON, 1920 Pushmataha Census
    2. Bob Hadley
    3. Hello List: I am a newcomer to the list and this is my first posting. I am trying to find information on a "Lucy SINGLETON", age 79, living in Enumeration District 230, sheet 6, on the 1920 Federal Census for Pushmataha County, Oklahoma. She has four children living in the household; William R., age 53; Nannie (Nancy), age 51; Rachel, age 49; and Callie (Caroline), age 44. All were born in Adair County, Kentucky. They probably moved to Pushmataha County from Bryan County, Oklahoma, where they show up on the 1910 Federal Census. The father in this family was David SINGLETON, born 1839 in Virginia and died somewhere in Oklahoma between 1910 and 1920. Any assistance with this request is appreciated. 3. Did you try the Historical Society? It is only open one or two days a week. It seems like it is only open on Tues. I tried like you to find information and, a very nice lady told me about them. I talked with Kay Black. She gave me so much information on my family, She and several other people have visited all the cemetary's and have spent countless days putting the information togeather. It is a soft paper cover for sale.[Pushmataha County Cemeteries] Old and new second editiion. She was so helpfull. I only wish I lived closer, in order to take advantage of their information. Also the Celera Genealogical Soc. over near Durant has good information and very helpfull people. Hope this helps. 1. [OKPUSHMA] BOHANONS
    2. My question deals with your Bohanon connections. My family descends from William Bohanon, Sr., (1780--1832) who married a full blood Choctaw woman in Mississippi and came with his family on the Trail of Tears to Indian Territory. From William, Sr., the line is as follows: Joshua Bohanon (1819--1891) husband of Louisa Christy Their daughter Frances Bohanon (1850--1928) wife of Washington Hudson Their son Peter Wayland Hudson (1877--1969) husband of Myrtle May Campbell Their daughter Lillian Thelma Hudson (1907--1996) wife of Thomas Jefferson Olive Their daughter Sharon Olive (1943-- ) wife of Dan Franklin DeLoache Do you intersect with any of "my" Bohanons? I would love to exchange information with you if you do, or if you would be at all interested. I grew up in Antlers, Oklahoma, and know many of the sites which you have named in that part of the state. Sharon Olive DeLoache deloache@intellex.com
