The council met Tuesday night and dispensed with the usual work connected with that body. The important matter before the body was the proposition by MR. BACON to install the electric light plant, but that matter was deferred… MRS. NELLIE WARD arrived Sunday from Little Rock, Arkansas for a visit with her parents Mr. and Mrs. JOHN H. GRAY. Postmaster JOHN LOCKE is confined to his room with chicken pox. WILLIE LOCKE of Blue Springs, Mississippi is visiting his uncle A. A. CALDWELL. J. M. DRAKE and wife spent Sunday as guests of his uncle W. W. DRAKE. JAKE F.. ARNOLD and D. A CUMLEY went to Calvin to bid on some land. JOE KIDWELL, the Sanitary Barber, will try to please your and your patronage is appreciated. OWEN M. MURRAY, a pushing real estate man, of Calvin, was a business visitor here Monday. Attorney LESLIE MAXEY of Ada represented a client here in court. Mr. and Mrs. TOM ANGLIN of Calvin are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. TOM REID. MRS. J. GRADY BUTLER and children left Sunday for Pryor Creek to visit her parents. P. D. MORRIS went to Muskogee to get some repairs for the M. O. & G. motor car. S. RICHEY, mangers of the Francis Telephone Co. of Calvin, was a business visitor here Monday. J. W. PEGG of the firm of PEGG BROS. & JONES, subscribed to the newspaper. A. M. CUMMINGS, of the firm CUMMINGS & LEONARD, returned Sunday from Hot Springs, Arkansas. T. W. BELL, another pushing farmer, was in Saturday and subscribed to the newspaper. A. M. FORDYCE, one of enterprising farmers residing 3 1.2 miles northeast, was here buying supplies Saturday. J. B. COOK and JULIAN DONAGHEY have been awarded the contract to build a 9 room residence for MRS. LONG next to the residence of her son WALTER LONG. HOWARD and family have moved from Steedman and he has opened a Singer Sewing Machine Agency. MRS. M. E. CRANFORD, the owner of several rich farms near Allen, subscribed to the newspaper. The three days old baby of Mr. and Mrs. ORB MCCALL died at the family residence in Allen Sunday morning and was laid to rest the same afternoon in the Allen cemetery. W. B. WHITLEY of Sasakwa came over Sunday and was looking over the building he and his brother are putting up here. P. L. HILL, one of the prosperous tillers of the soil living 3 miles northeast, was on our streets and subscribed to the paper. Correction We erred last week in stating that the baby of OSCAR LONG had died. It should have read ‘OSCAR LEE’s baby’ died.
