My wife's mother, HATTYE BATES MCCORD was born near ROFF , OKLAHOMA in 1897. She went to teachers college in ADA ,OK. and was a shool teacher around ADA, OK for 9yrs in the 1920's. According to family history, Hattye's father, JAMES ARTHUR MCCORD, started the town of AHLOSO when he opened a General Store and became the first Postmaster. He also had a small farm in AHLOSO. His wife MARY IDA CUSHMAN MCCORD served as Postmistress and they raised 3 girls and 3 boys in PONTOTOC CO. The odd thing about the MCCORD family of PONTOTOC COUNTY is that search engines etc., reveal little info about them. Does anyone have any information or stories about this family? Bill
