Hello List- I am in need of trying to find Joe James and Lucy Gurtie. I dont know any vital information on Joe James but he probably lived in the Pontotoc area for some time. Joe James was the father of Christine. Christine Henrietta James was married twice. first to Bill McCarty and then to Jeff Winkler. Joe james may have died in Pontotoc and would like some addreess of funeral homes and cementeries to check. also do you have a local historical or genealogical society, where i might write?? I dont know where Joe James and Lucy( Gurtie) Risenhoover may have gotten married, may have been in Pontotoc so if any one has acces to a marriage book, it would be helpful, the marriage before 1919.
