Thursday, April 25, 1907, at 2:30 a.m., Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Bolen, the grand old lady, mother of Attorney James W. Bolen and Mrs. F S. Houpt, died in Ada at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Houpt on East 15th street. She had been confined to her bed since last fall, caused by her old age which had made her very feeble. Loving kindness was shown her and everything possible was done to prolong her life. She lived three-quarters of a century of a noble existence, loving wife and mother, and revered by all. Funeral services were held this afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Houpt and were well attended by friends and by people who had learned to love and respect the grand old lady. Rev. T. L. Rippey of the Methodist church, and Rev. T. B. Harrell of the Baptist church, conducted the services. Interment was in Rosedale cemetery. The News most sincerely extends condolence to the bereaved family."
